Functional thoThat would be one wonky looking set up!
TrueFunctional tho
Yea i def thought about them but id like to avoid the body lifts TBH. I dont really need any more lift but wouldnt mind another 1/2-1 esp in the rear for when we load up all the gear. But then again I never wheel with all that gear in the back anyways so I’m usually back to a level/slightly raked look on the trails. Come to think of it if I did add 3/4 of an inch in the back, it would probably make me want to lift the front to level it back out somehowSomething i just thought about. I spoke with Bowen Customs this morning, about potentially doing a bed lift. If these spring spacers don't cut it I might be taking the truck back to do it. For you Rick, you could probably buy an aftermarket body lift kit, and do just the bed portion of the lift. Just to add some rear clearance.
With everything you are doing, portals are really the only good answer for long term reliability. Just more $$$Yea i def thought about them but id like to avoid the body lifts TBH. I’d do just about anything for portal, but I can only find custom application setups. Open to refrencesWith everything you are doing, portals are really the only good answer for long term reliability. Just more $$$
74weld may be able to help.I’d do just about anything for portal, but I can only find custom application setups. Open to refrences
If it would guarantee 0 CV boot issues for the rest of my life, i'd go for it lol. I reached out to 74weld a long time ago but never heard back. Im curious though, can you still rip with portals or would we be stuck doing low range crawling all the time? I def cant give up my high speed romps - they're my fave and the kids' fave too! With everything you are doing, portals are really the only good answer for long term reliability. Just more $$$
oh yeah you can rip. The idea behind portals is that it allows for ideal range CV angels with all the benefits of a lift. You are also able to get gear reduction if you wanted. If it would guarantee 0 CV boot issues for the rest of my life, i'd go for it lol. I reached out to 74weld a long time ago but never heard back. I could gear reduce without touching the diffs? Man that'd be sick to jump to like a 4.56 or 4.88. The 40s are definitely slowing things down quite a bit!oh yeah you can rip. Look at king of the hammers or AWD tts. All portals now.
Yes sir. Portals are not cheap for a reason. Lots of benefitsI could gear reduce without touching the diffs? Man that'd be sick to jump to like a 4.56 or 4.88. The 40s are definitely slowing things down quite a bit!
This gives you something to do while you figure out if your transmission truly did shit the bed!Decided to bite the bullet and do the trimming right so we never gunna rub again even at full stuff.
Rear trimming is done. Just need to Clean-up, spray paint & some door trim and the rears are done hopefully forever lol. Just followed the fender seam for a “relatively” clean cut.
On to the fronts now.
