Yess!! Will def let you know if the trip is a go. Right now it's still 50/50 whcih is a real pain in my ass cuz im not mapping anything or routing or researching until we're 100% go. Still doing some trimming of the bodyguard front bumper (corner on pass side). Other than that, there's no rubbing at all in daily driving lock to lock or drive-on beach/etc. Next up is AC replacement and then hopefully back in time to take it for a little romp in the local forest to see where it rubs off-road (ideally before driving across the country lolol)Argh, was hoping to see you and the family!
I did have a funny vision when this CO trip was DM'd, getting your backwoods Colorado trail text and delivering a 40" replacement from Denver in our Sienna sport minivan: Like a DAKAR support rig: UBER-FTR.Doing "Goat Yoga" in Vail as our first get together/introduction with the wives + kids just won't be the same now LOL!
.
Larger CONUS Tire sizes reminds me of the Overland reality... sometimes it's good (especially more desolate areas/other countries) to run commonplace tire sizes. Odds are that most areas of the EU and Africa don't have 40's on the shelf. I had larger 285's on my last 4R, but a common default at nearly every small town tire shop (or within a day from their distribution hub).
Big fan of GlueTread and other clever interim items like www.ElementFire.com quick to grab fireextinguisher 'sticks' (until I can retrieve the 5pd'r from the bed box). Although there are some great 'SAVE' videos deploying an Element Fire stick, some critique the overall effectiveness and impact. IMO it's akin to using my handgun in the interim as I reach for my rifle. Damn Zombies are gonna slow down enough to buy me necessary time.

Eventually! I've got enough probs with the drivetrain and my chiller fiasco at the moment. Dont need any from the engine/trans!Looks good! Now you need mo powa
Damn - Looks Good!UPDATE: Trimming for DD is done. No rub anywhere from lock to lock even when coming down a steep driveway bump at full lock/etc
HOWEVER: Just got back from a lil offroad shakedown run and ooooh baby we got some more trimming to do! I could def blow the fenders off if i jumped her right now. Not sure how I'm going to approach the fenders yet (might let them self-clearance lol). Gunna start with the bumper corner (already shaved about 1/2" off and another 1/2" to go for sure.
CONCLUSION: Man i dont think i've been in love with her more. She's currently Leaking coolant from OEM Hx + Oil from Rear main + Windshield washer fluid but she's still got the biggest Tig Ol' biddies around and that's all that I can stare at![]()

You gotta get that rear end dialed in first! Keep us posted on if you find a spacer lift of some kind to add-on to the HD Eibachs!Damnit... Now i have to do this.
That would be bada@@ for sure but our truck is paid off too and wouldn't be going anywhere even with a Redeye option. Now if they came out with a factory 40" Redeye or Demon option....well then dang im in a pickle hahaDamn - Looks Good!
I'm just going to hang onto my pedestrian 35's for now and hope that the 2026 TRX doesn't come with 37's and a Redeye option. My truck is paid for, and I'm not sure I'm ready to have a new truck conversation with the boss just yet...
Flexing this weekend whether she's ready or not. Heading to beasley knob for a 3rd attempt. Hopefully the weather doesn't ruin it a 3rd time for us! Those mofos close the entire OHV if they take on more than an inch of rain and/or if the forecast is calling for an inch of rain. I guess it's that dangerous to ride there when slick...Now flex. Literally the only thing holding me back is waiting on you and Gentry Hull to get done cutting so i don't have to play as many guessing games to throw fiberwerx and some 40" KR3 on mine.
looks dope!I just took the coil overs out on my Tacoma, put the tires on, and let the jack down. Then started cutting and beating until tires cleared. No rub at full stuff lock to lock.
If they made it, we'd have it. An extra inch would be the icing with this setup. I may have to just trim it out of the fenders eventually. Or if i just lost the overland rack & the decked setup, as well as the 500lbs of kid/baby crap inside the cab, there's my extra inchFlashing back to my 80's trucks... 3" suspension, 3" body lift (often first due to HS budget!)...
Is a body lift (even 1-1.5") a potential solution?
Fortunately tacomas are surprisingly easierI just took the coil overs out on my Tacoma, put the tires on, and let the jack down. Then started cutting and beating until tires cleared. No rub at full stuff lock to lock.
They do! Its a RW TRXThat would be bada@@ for sure but our truck is paid off too and wouldn't be going anywhere even with a Redeye option. Now if they came out with a factory 40" Redeye or Demon option....well then dang im in a pickle haha
Found rear spacers, I think you are on that post. My concern is adding spacers on top of HD springs, and then over extending shocks. or even losing springs at massive extension. I am thinking straps need to be part of the setup. Thoughts? You gotta get that rear end dialed in first! Keep us posted on if you find a spacer lift of some kind to add-on to the HD Eibachs!
Man that's outside my jurisdiction. I usually just F around and find out haha. I wouldn't be too worried about that with the 3/4" spacers but if you're doing more than 1"+ then perhaps. I think you might need a custom spring though as you're sagging pretty good back there. Personally, I wouldn't want to add anything bigger than 3/4-1" in the spacer department. I think i'd probably just trim my fenders in half before doing any bigger than that. I'm not sure that 3/4-1" is enough to give you the look you're wanting though?Found rear spacers, I think you are on that post.
