Couple of Questions

Do we know if the mirrors will be the same color as the truck body? In the TFL video where they spotted two trucks the red truck had red mirrors while the blue one had black.

Also, will there be a 500 mile break in period like the Trackhawk before we can do launch control?

The blue truck I think are the tow mirrors and are black, the regular ones will be body color. Yes, expect a break in period.

•Maintain vehicle speed below 85 mph (136 km/h) and observe local speed limits.

For the first 1500 mi (2414 km):
•Do not participate in track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities during the
first 1500 mi (2414 km).

That is awesome if regular mirrors are body color, I much prefer that but I haven't seen any body color but the TFL video. In regards to the break in period, I thought we just couldn't do launch control, I had no idea they wanted us to stay below 70 mph! That is going to be hard when that is below speed limit on our highways!

I loosely followed the break in instructions on my Charger Hellcat and babied it for the first 1500 miles. It took some will power not to just go wide open throttle every time I drove it. But I think it is worth the wait.
I don't remember having to change the oil before the first 3000 miles though.

My Challenger is the 6.4 engine. The took it easy for the first 500 though. And changed the oil at 1000 since it was a free from the dealership.

When I can offer information I give it, when I need information I ask for it, that's consistent with my posts. When I don't know, I don't make stuff up to hear myself talk or spread rumors from unverified sources like a high school girl. Grow up. We are here to learn and have good conversations about our automotive passions.

Every car has some sort of break in and I've done it sometimes based on the manual the vehicle comes with...

Other times I didn't care cause I knew I wasn't keeping the car past the warranty period anyway

I stand corrected. I have never owned a 6.2 and you should know since you have a Demon. I should have stated my post as a question to find out everyone's take. I know that I read that or heard the 500 miles change but that could have very well been others opinion.

My 2 cents on a "break in period" is the manufacturer can't tell how you drive the car and made a product that they are willing to give a full bumper to bumper warranty on for the first 36,000 miles. They do disable the launch control on other vehicles with the hellcat engine for the first 500 miles which means they have data to suggest that using launch in the first 500 miles either causes damage (I doubt it) or more likely they don't want a bunch of salesmen and test drivers doing launch control on brand new vehicles over and over on cars that haven't had their first owner yet.....The likelihood that you damage something in the break in period by not following their suggestions that waits until after the warranty has expired to break is infinitesimally small

I've always just driven any new vehicle the way that I plan on driving it for the duration I own it whether it is mile 10 or 100,000 on the odometer and this truck my plan is to daily it like my normal daily driver trucks in the past and when I am fortunate enough to be the first at a red light open it up to get thrown back in the seat and put a smile on my face when it turns green....But to each his own if you want to obey the suggested break in period and it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling its your truck do with it what you want, but if you are doing it because you think it is going to improve the longevity of the drive-train plan on babying it for the entire life of the truck because that will undoubtedly keep the repair costs to a minimum but then imo there is no real point in paying an $18k premium for an extra 350 HP over a fully loaded rebel

Its 500 miles guys, not a big deal. After that you can beat the hell out of these engines everyday and they will be good to you.
