20 miles home from dealer and dumping oil everywhere...

well played. you are right, this isnt the end of the world, the truck isnt exploding on ignition...but damn....my truck gets built this week...i have PPF and ceramic scheduled. I think I will hold off on that till i can deem it a keeper
I really may tell the dealer I will only take delivery if they let me take it for a 50 mile testdrive before transfer.

Man, I wish I had done that!

I believe facts and objective well reasoned feedback and criticism are a more constructive way to get things done and move the ball forward at the moment, especially to help the people that are having issues right now. Antagonizing the only people that have the power to help you with insulting memes isn’t the best way to garner their engagement, at least in my opinion.

Not everyone here is buying this truck as a side toy or for yt clicks. I have read many cool stories of how people have saved up to buy it as a retirement gift to themselves, or how they are reaching slightly financially because of the awesomeness it promises. For those and many other people this isn’t about social media and influencing, it is a significant purchase that they’re willing to make to get joy, not headaches and stress.

Now if Ram fails to act in good faith and to support their product and their customers with urgency, then by all means, bomb away.

Btw, I’m not saying don’t meme the thing, I’m just saying @KnightMare might not want to open with that in his communications.
I fall in the latter, definitely not a toy or for yt clicks...

Dear @RamCares

You really should go press the panic button in your bosses bosses bosses office because this man and many others here are speaking truth.

Use me as an example when you push the panic button. I’m single, have plenty of play money, am a social media “influencer” and buy expensive cars every 2-3 years. This will be my first dodge.... if I don’t just cancel and buy something else to play with until the Raptor R comes out due to this fuckery. And I bought a first year mclaren to put this in perspective on levels of fuckery

I have owned cars from chevy, ford, Lamborghini, mclaren, porsche, bmw, mercedes, bentley and others. I just sold a Grand Cherokee Summit diesel which was also a giant clusterfuck in addition to the dieselgate stuff.

I am never a Ram buyer because of historical reliability evidence. I am only giving Ram a try because of the TRX. I have many friends with either deposits down or waiting to see how the trx goes. Many have raptors now. Thats not counting all the social media followers I will be happy to explain how well or terribly you handle these trucks. If Dodge screws this up I will probably never buy a dodge out of spite.

Do Better. This is totally unacceptable.

kisses,

Bambi

So sorry to hear about this. Hopefully @RamCares takes care of this ASAP and works with the internal team to alleviate or minimize any future issues on new builds even if they have to delay them a month or two. The last thing any of us want is to deal with these issues and be making payments on a truck stuck in some CJDR service department awaiting corporate inspection / parts and probably getting dinged up or beat on while it's sitting there.

The breadth of issues and seriousness of some is very concerning. @RamCares is it going to take Ram fucking something up so bad it kills someone before the company will acknowledge these new and prospective customers publicly? I’m seriously on the fence of whether this truck is something I want to put my family in. And the say nothing bullshit from FCA is leading me to believe this is not a company you should trust. Toyota got raked over the coals for that shit with floor mats, yet the shit coming off the lines here seems like we live in a banana republic.
My 2021 Rebel is doing really good. Unless things change soon, I'm kicking my 2021 build to 2022 or 2023 or however long it takes Ram to get their shit together.

My kids asked if I was getting it back Monday... I told them to be properly inspected/resolved I won't see it back for awhile... The thought did cross my mind about 100 times of where it is sitting right now and how long did they let it run taking it off the tow truck with whatever oil it had left in it. I'm pretending all of this isn't happening, the dealership won't touch it, Ram will fly in some engineers ASAP, go over the entire truck, give me an unlimited extended warranty, and I'll be back in it this week.

Oh believe me, that's what always cross my mind anytime I have to leave a vehicle for warranty work. I'm hopefully RAM will get these issues taken care of asap and get you back into it quickly!

The random screw in one dudes truck under the seat is pretty good psyops from a ford spy in the plant. Just sprinkle random but significant bolts/etc in the interior to undermine confidence
When I take something apart and put it back together there's always a few extra bolts and washers... pretty standard stuff nothing to worry about

I know. The same happens to me. I just find it humorous from a psychological perspective.

I hope you guys are kidding, which I think you are. I take pics and put bolts back if removing things like shocks as placeholders, use a tackle box like bin for each portion as I disassemble, left to right in the bins. Goal is never to see an extra ;)

I'm kidding about it being standard... it does happen every time tho. I'm not what you call "handy"

So let me see if I understand the situation......

My truck is located in Sterling Heights in the Purgatory Parking lot waiting for QA.
Your truck is located the dealership parking lot waiting for proper QA.
Sounds like the Sterling Heights parking lot ran out of space and they are creating new parking lot of Hell at their dealerships.

That's a real test of your engineering skills to put it back together without all those unnecessary parts and still have it work properly.

I am curious to know how much training the assembly line workers actually get before these vehicles start to roll off of the assembly lines or is it just basically trial and error until they get it right which unfortunately means customers getting new vehicles are breaking them in for the company
I’ve said it before, but I see new members who probably haven’t heard. I work in an automotive plant. Just based on my 31 years in this place, training is extensive. No person is allowed on their own until they can master one job without mistakes and in tact time. Then, that’s the only job they do. They will slowly be trained on another until they master it. Those are the only two jobs they do. We do have a lot of temporary workers trying to get full time. But, the turnover rate of these, bottom of the barrel, associates is crazy. And, I say, bottom of the barrel, because we have depleted the good working class people in our area and have now lowered our standards to get bodies in there. Our quality has also suffered. Now, with covid, good workers are out for quarantine for 10-14 days, and they fill the spots with whoever can half ass do the jobs. Some days, trim doesn’t start up on time due to absenteeism from covid. I can’t imagine we’re the only plant suffering from this. Not to mention parts shortages every day. I could go on, but, you get the jist.

It seems that way. @RamCares has been open for 2 hours, I also tweeted them this link, my #, and asked to be called. Not that I'm impatiently waiting or anything... I had to go on a 300 mile trip yesterday, would have put a nice dent in my break-in!

Some positive news, while @RamCares has not contacted me, the GM Jose at Castle Rock RAM gave me a call with a detailed update. Getting truck on lift, service Mgr has opened case, they contacted the area Ram manager, etc.

He also said he is sending someone out to clean my driveway, whether Ram reimburses him or not.

I did ask them to measure how much oil was left and if it needs factory break-in oil.

More to come.

I had my 991.1 GT3 built and shelved in Germany for a few months before they officially solved the problem. I was one of the few that had the motor replaced at the factory instead of at a dealer or other location. That was a great car and it was nice know I had the extended warranty... even though it was traded for an RS only a few month later.

While it was frustrating not having your car, it was comforting that you knew Porsche was going to make it right and was open about the process.

My 991.1 GT3 blew up on the track 🤣

That make me feel worse about this. Only 100 delivered and having that many problems just concerns me.
All the leaks can be prevented with an inspection on the rack, even the missing bolt.

What’s special about the break in oil? I’ve never heard of that. Sounds like headlight fuid
