Whipple Supercharger Gen V 3.0

I do all of my own wrench turning, helps me afford the things I do. Mainly because I don’t trust anyone to fuck my truck up. If it’s going to be fucked up I want to be the one to do it, and I know how to fix the problem if I’m the one that created it. 😳🤣

Waiting does suck! I ordered my TTRX kit a few months ago and most of it arrived Saturday and the last 2 items are scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I am so excited to get them installed.

I have AR headers now and will be replacing them with shorty headers for the turbos to fit where they go. If you know anyone looking for headers I will be selling these. I have about 4-5k miles on them. Cheaper than new and no wait, I have them in stock, lol
I love my AR headers and that's why I took the TTRX kit off the table, I hate losing money already spent lol.

Yeah unfortunately I do not have that luxury or anywhere near the experience required. That's awesome though, I'd much rather give my own time than pay for labor.

Awesome build. Do you have the dyno sheet for the base tune? I’m curious to see the curve… guessing no sign of plateau near redline. The blower VE curve for this Gen V looks great but haven’t seen any real world output yet. Keeping an eye on these builds to see just how far you guys can push the stock bottom end… explaining to the wife that I blew the motor on the truck that’s supposed to be our reliable road trip vehicle would be tough lol.

Amen dude. I’m the same way. Unfortunately also around the house which means there’s always a honey do list.

I can say for me, we will push to 1000whp then cut it off and I will drive it and send oil for analysis to see what metal content looks like to determine if rods/bearings etc are experiencing heavier wear. If they are, rods and pistons would be next before trying anything else.

Seems like the HC motor wrist pins are the weak area which is likely partially due to an oiling shortage and would happen then on high temp long pulls. It’s something that might not show up in analysis until it happens on a hot pull.

I've read this before with HC's, seems shifting higher at 6700+ could have caused some of this over time. But yeah, time will tell with the TRX because of the added weight and the unknowns.

Here is a dyno sheet for my build to date. Hopefully this helps answer some questions for you.

How much are you looking to sell the AR headers for?

I'm making a gauge pod setup right now to install next week during the whipple install. This will be going in the upper glove box and will be hidden unless it's left open. First pic is how it will look, second pic is a rough FDM print for fitment purposes, last pic is what I'm going to make it on!

Thank you. Stock cam?

Looks like that blower still has a little left in it and pulling almost linear all the way to redline. 👍 I’m guessing since you said just base tune that it has a very mild timing curve…looks like especially up top.

Stock cam

Lots of room left as I am on stock fuel pump (no BAP), 3.75 pulley (Whipple standard) + tuning based on adjustments/changes

Just my opinion

You're running the Whipple 3.0 with 1200CC Injectors, 180 Stat, and making 800+ on an E85 base tune? Hot damn, with how the Whipple sounds on these trucks it makes me want to get in line.

Any idea how much power these can reliably make on regular pump gas? Assuming you'd need a BAP.

Are they full length headers or short?

I’m just guessing, but I bet you could get about 8-850 rwhp on 93, I know I have seen well over 1k for E85 with these set ups.

Some call the ARH full length, but they are actually a mid length with a flange to a collector elbow. Both pieces together are close to a full length. I have someone committed to buying them now. I will let you know if he doesn’t, but I think it’s a done deal.

I made 760whp on the stock blower on 93 upper only, could have gotten closer to 800whp (tuner said the 2.75 would have been fine) but decided not to risk it, just went to E85 and 2.65 instead...the Whipple would definitely go over the 800whp mark but I do wonder about fueling...nothing worse than running lean. I also had the JMS installed just to be safe.
