What to look for in a used TRX w/ <100 miles?

Personally I think it’s dealer employees buying the vehicles in there names selling back to their dealer so the dealer can sell them as used. In my area I was seeing C8 corvettes for sale as used with 8 miles at Dodge dealers and TRX for sale with 22 miles at Chevy dealers. Not so much lately but 6 months ago or so it was all the time. Seems like there is something going on there in my opinion.

Local dealer near me has 2 TRXs in stock, both used (1 owner) with 60 and 90 miles. Now I've heard of people backing out of an order, but what would cause someone to buy and then sell a TRX with <100 miles? Is there something I should be looking for? Should I get it inspected by a third party?
Like you, I had the same situation. I bought mine used with 900 miles. It turns out the first owner was shocked at the cost to drive. The gas bill is what made him turn it in. I’ve had no problems with it at all.

Are you for real?

If you can afford the $90k you can afford the $200 tank of gas.

Why do dealers have to lie? Why make up a lame story like that? Dude either just wanted to make $$ or couldn’t afford it. Plain & simple. If you’re buying a 900-mile truck from a dealer or private party just know that there’s money already made on that truck.

If you’re ok with that, buy it. If not, order a new one for thousands less than what that used truck costs and wait 6 months.

It’s pretty wild these days. But now the new zo6 and Escalade V I saw where they make you sign something where you can’t sell it within a year… but then 4 days ago a manager from classic Cadillac in Atlanta called my wife and said they have a new Escalade V esv for 300k 😂😂😂😂AND he said I could sell it for more… so I don’t know who to believe… but I’d say if you’re lucky you can probably make 3-7k back trading a under 100 mile trx

Damn I thought the guy trying to tell me 60k over for a Escalade V was crazy

I’m fighting for a lemon law buyback for this very problem. My local dealer can’t seem to fix it and it’s very frustrating. A shame. The truck only has 2200 miles on it!
Thought there was a recall on this?! OP should definitely inquire with dealer just to be sure!

No kidding. But my wife did actuslly say he saw that 500k one go for auction for charity and said we can get well over 300k. I just laughed. I laugh when we paid 145k for the 2022 escalde esv platinum sport for two sets of forgiotos with it. Wild time for cars. Wish I was patient enough to wait for prices to drop, just don’t see that though

I think you have to sign something for Hummer EV as well.
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I've had the Hummer SUV 3X on order since the first day ordering opened.

spoke with the regional buyer rep from Texas Auto Value. At one time they were number one C8 dealer. He told me everysingle C8 they got, it was from someone either familly or friend with the dealer ( owner or general manager). About 2 months ago they were up to over 100 C8 purchased

Were they sold as used with an above MSRP price? Just curious. I overheard two sales guys talking at a Chevy dealer a few months ago. One of them placed an order for a Tahoe, for himself, and the other guy was asking him how much over MSRP was he going to sell it for. So I am assuming he was going to sell it as used, most likely through the dealer? IDK for sure but it seems possible to me.

I thought the same. You don’t by this truck to economize on fuel. I was clear with the dealer that I wasn’t paying $95k. No chance. There was an L2 not far away with 19k miles for the same price. I paid $85,500, L1 with utility bed, running boards, others. No trade. I wrote the check standing there and he took it.
