2022 Black TRX (Level 2)
Local dealer near me has 2 TRXs in stock, both used (1 owner) with 60 and 90 miles. Now I've heard of people backing out of an order, but what would cause someone to buy and then sell a TRX with <100 miles? Is there something I should be looking for? Should I get it inspected by a third party?

Would someone really profit from buying from dealer (with tax) and selling to dealer?

It’s pretty wild these days. But now the new zo6 and Escalade V I saw where they make you sign something where you can’t sell it within a year… but then 4 days ago a manager from classic Cadillac in Atlanta called my wife and said they have a new Escalade V esv for 300k 😂😂😂😂AND he said I could sell it for more… so I don’t know who to believe… but I’d say if you’re lucky you can probably make 3-7k back trading a under 100 mile trx

Please enlighten me!
Someone buys from one of the 9-11K off sticker dealers, goes out to California or other crazy markets and gets sticker or over for the trade in value, even factoring in 6% tax and a couple grand for transportation truck that’s a quick 5 grand profit minimum

I just saw on MotorWeek that the first Escalade V sold for $500K at auction but I believe that was for charity.

I think you have to sign something for Hummer EV as well.

Makes sense. Sales tax here is >10% though. I’m not sure how that works if it’s purchased out of state but I think there are restrictions in doing that. So if someone buys 100k MSRP discounted -10k to 90k, pays sales tax for 99k total, and is selling to a dealer who is still potentially selling at sticker (100k), the profit seems less impressive.

i know ppl that would rather take a nap than make 20k or others that at some point in their life were willing to kill for $20. Ordering/sending transporter to pick up/reselling if you have the right connections shouldnt be more than 2 hours tops all together. 2 hours for at least 5k is not as bad as you make it sound unless you have the means to earn more

Agreed profit is subjective and different people will have different levels of motivation. But with my math, the profit seems minuscule, borderline zero. Not very familiar here though so maybe I'm wrong on the taxes etc.

I bought mine used with 140 miles on it. Someone obviously flipped it. I checked the performance pages and gave it a good walk around and test drive. I paid right at MSRP and it was a win/win - I got my truck immediately and the dealer still got their ridiculous dealer fee and a chance to sell me all of the upsells (which I didn't buy).

What about the 6-8 month wait to get the truck. So it’s a lot more than 2 hours. Lots more that can be donebwith money over 8 months to make 5g.
The only money spent during your wait time is the deposit (usually it is $1k).
