What Do You Want For Your TRX?

How do they compare with the Mopar Retractable Steps? I was thinking of having the dealer add that as an option to my order.

I've never had the Mopar steps, and only speak from experience on my Cummins for the amp xls.
I had 0 issues out of the steps and did not do any type of preventative maintenance, barely washed the truck.
I live in a dusty climate also.
I bought the XL because I liked the rock rail look.

I still haven't found a set of aftermarket rock rails I'm overly interested in. I'm looking for something similar to what I currently have. Frame mounted, low profile/hugs the cab and therefore doesn't lower the look of the cab like the stock TRX off road running steps do. I have seen one tubular set around but they have that bulge towards the rear tire that I'm not a fan of.

I would settle for the stock rock rails, but those seem to be very hard to come by and just heard from the dealership today that you can't order them until January '23 for some reason. And I'm definitely going to be off-road, doing light rock crawling, so the power steps, while cool and convenient, aren't for me.

Sooooo, yea, rock sliders is a need in my opinion.

im asking wkor to make a proper slider for the trx (frame mounted).. i used them on my tundra, it was solid...pls shoot them an email as well, hopefully they'll fab it with more interests..

Tough to tell but these i had on my Rebel and they look similar to those on your Tundra but your picture is hard to see on top. But maybe this helps

dont think that one is frame mounted.. here is a pic of the sliders i had, very solid pieces, can even use them as jack points..

Something like White Knuckle Sliders (currently nothing for the TRX) would be ideal!

We messed with frame mounted on the 5th Gen Rebel but with current steel prices they are hard to build at a decent price and still make money. We offered a few options but everyone we built and sold had the kickout in the rear. It’s easy to eliminate that kickout. The other downside is they can be hard to install.

On the Rebel, the 33 gallon tank added design and installation challenges (not sure on the TRX because I haven’t looked at ours. We will eventually build something but leaning more towards a super strong body mounted for ease of installation and makes it easier to keep them high without noise. I also firmly believe we can design a set that will be super strong and protective as well as a suitable jack point.

Yea the suitable for a jack point is super important for me. When I was researching my current set, most people said body mounted wasn’t to be trusted compared to frame mounted….but, I’m open minded to folks who have more experience in this.

Frame mounted is easier to make strong. It comes with trade offs though. You can make a super durable, protective, heavy duty slider that is body mounted though.

curious to see, idk how strong these new bodies are...frame mount though, yea it will take the whole weight on truck and then some.. and definitely the gas tank was a real PIA for frame mounted installs, i can attest omg..
