What did you do to your TRX today?

Got the winter salt off and installed summer tires 😎

I had the low fuel warning come on (again) and I was in the middle of no where at ~3am. (Don't ask) Drove another ~20 miles and came upon some mom and pop gas station that was open :). Luckily they had premium (or so they say). Anyway, I was so happy to come across a gas station that was open at that hour/area. I filled it up with 31.5 gals for $142. That's the most gas I've ever had to put in the TRX's tank at one time and the most I've ever paid for a fill up "around here". It probably costs me about $50 more than I normally pay for that much gas, but all things considered, (location and time of night) it was cheap. Hate to even think what that would have cost me in California, "et al", under similar circumstances.

This is the second time this has happened in the past year. You'd think I'd learn.

I had a similar experience and my wife was driving. She didn't believe my mathematics and thought for sure we were going to be walking in BFE North Eastern Colorado. Drove from Lincoln, NE passing numerous towns with gas enroute to the CO mountains.

50 miles from the next town with gas the low fuel light came on. The last 20 miles I had her slow to 50 on the highway. Even I was sweating thinking my math failed me. But we made it lol. 31.4 gallons and 366 miles. My math was right with only 1.6 gallons to being fucked 😂🤣

The next time I made this trip a few months later I stopped in Western NE. There isn't shit out there in NE Colorado.

will have to find it but believe the best I have done was short of 460 worst was 230.

A measly 36 mph average?!?

I'd be ashamed to post that, even if it resulted in getting 45 mpg.
That maths ain't mathing!

Got ya beat (didn't take a odometer pic)... but at least I was in town. 🍻

He's right. 402 miles divided by 11 hours of drive time = 36.5 MPH.
I fully get that but I was the one behind the wheel that trip was 55mph 5.5hr one way 5.5hr back so the maths don't add up to the drive see it how you wish.

So there is some extra, I have asked this before and got nope only 33 no reserve. So wonder if they are 35 actually 32.8 whatever is close as I got myself to empty.

I hate to admit it but I put a about a 1/2 gallon in from the premium can in for my ZTR in my garage just before I left the house so I'd make it to the gas station about 6 miles away... this one was after a long trip, about 455 miles, to my parents cabin and back but I'd stopped at home before filling up. I don't think I'd have made it to the station without the extra splash and go, my guess though is the actual fuel capacity is closer to 34gal.

Appreciate the info. I had access to a closed loop and was doing different constant speed runs and times to find the TRX sweet spot for mileage. Know every well how to get none was curious of the max. Get that's not most owners cup of tea but I try to know as much as I can about my vehicles and their capabilities. Tons of miles and smiles since then!

I attempted this last night on our 8-hr drive back from Blairsville. Once i got on flat ground my MPG at 75mph, 73mph, 72mph and 70mph were all within 11-11.8mpg; whereas my 80-84mph was 10-10.2. Needless to say after that test was done, i avg'd 9.9 the rest of the way home :ROFLMAO:
