What did you do to your TRX today?

I damaged my truck last week, but thankfully, it was fully protected with PPF. The team mentioned they would need to remove the TRX decals on the sides, so I decided to replace them with the limited edition ones.

Airbags are in. The GTHaus exhaust had to be modified in order to fit the bag on the passanger side. From my understanding, stock exhausts don't need any modification.

I have three questions:

1. I assume you added the airbags for higher loads?

2. Did it increase the truck’s height?

3. How is the ride quality—smoother or harsher?

1. Affirm. I also have a 54 gallon tank so they also help with the driver side lean with a full tank.

2. With an empty payload I leave them at 5psi. So there might be some height but its negligable. If i crank it up I can definately add some height though.

3. Tough question to answer. Are we talking about stock? I have not been stock for a long time. I originally had the hellwig sway bar. Then I went to eibach springs with hellwig. Once i installed the bags the hellwig had to go. Currently the ride is very similar to when I just had the eibach and hellwig on the medium setting. Turns are good. I would say I feel the lean in prolonged turns a little more without the hellwig at 5psi. Its hard to tell though

With the mods I have I can definately confirm the ride is harder/firmer over stock though. Less 'squishy' over bumps.

Snowbaruu whose air bags are they? I had some a few years ago and felt they limited the travel and made the truck feel like I lost so,e travel over bumps. Do you have any of that feeling? I’d love to have air bags but with the ones I had I didn’t like the way it made the truck feel. But mine were one single bag where yours look like a few doughnuts. I was running the Timber Grove set up.

They are Boss air bags. They're an Aussie company. I had them shipped with my fuel tank. I'm not sure if they have a USA location. As far as travel I don't do crazy off roading. For pavement it's less squishy. Less bouncing after hitting a pot hole or speed bump, which i prefer. My ride is already firmer with the eibach springs though. I cant remember what stock suspension felt like. The bags and eibach springs with the added weight of my fuel tank feel very similar to eibach with hellwig and stock tank.

Drove 380 miles on one tank before refill. Had the low fuel on at 50. The last 10 miles were interesting. Filled up 31.4 gallons. Had 1.6 gallons to spare.

Also had fun doing 4 wheel drive drifting on snow covered mountain switchbacks.

Installed F & R ADD bumpers with new fogs/rear spots and 40" light bar that fit way better than I expected. I love the fit and build of the ADD. The six mounting bolts (four using speed clips ) worry me a little for front pulls as the stock recovery hooks are so much stronger but it will be fine for mild pulls. I still have to orient a couple of the sensors better as I am getting some premature warnings but that is my fault. I also chose a bumper that retained the step because I am at a point in my life where I think that is the greatest invention ever. LOL One thing that triggered some OCD in me on the rear bumper was the angled trailer plug mount. I wish the cutout was straight. Maybe it's just me.

Otherwise, it was labor intensive with the harnesses but I'm happy with how everything turned out. Cheers!
