What are the Top 10 Modifications You Plan to Do to Your TRX?

This guy sheds enough to make two other dogs per week.
Haha I know that feeling! I think my two Shiba Inus who unfortunately passed over the last year definitely shed more than the Golden, it was insane but man they were the BEST dogs.

(Champ 13yrs & Bingley 2-3 mnts) - My one Shiba had a blast with my Golden as a puppy a few months earlier before he passed.

You’d think the black hair would pair well with black interior...not so. Her undercoat is like a light gray. I can’t believe the hair that comes off this thing. BTW, the tutu is my daughter’s doing.

I used a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited as the spec. It should be the same as a Rebel / any 2020 1500 Crew cab. Hopefully I'll have it sooner than their expected eta. I may have to buy an amazon knockoff if the TRX magically shows up before Christmas.

I still have to order the below Weathertech charcoal part #8DP22CH (22" x 18") or 8DP26CH (26" x 18") as my Golden has gotten way too big in 10 months and loves to look out the window.

A dog riding with their head out of the window will dry their eyes, because they don't blink.

REX Specs. Mine finally got used to his.
haha!

I'm aware, 15yrs + experience with dogs. I only allow him to do so when cruising at city speeds to look out...highway speeds: windows up and all dogs safely inside.

That being said, officially switched my LE order for Hydro Blue so I may be stacking up mods before I have my truck!

Just a heads up, anyone looking for a Covercraft Canine Covers Coverall Custom Rear Seat should order one ASAP direct from them. They are so backlogged. I'm still another week or two out before I receive mine. It has the floor coverage option which makes it much easier for larger dogs to be able to get up and into the truck without using lifting them.

Hey Johnny did you figure out what locker fits the TRX? Thanks

Rambar Modification - Lower it too cab height - add lights
Bed mounted spare tire lock system as the bolts are too long foe traditional lock system

Not yet actually, once I have my TRX I'll be doing lots of test fitting.

Looking forward to this, had the same idea so I could fit in the garage. I assume I would need an 8 foot door either way.

Ooohh - build planning threads!

- First - bed mount for a ProEagle jack - never enjoyed Hi-Lifts on the trail
- Second - no need for lockable storage 🤫
- Third - undecided on paint protection (I know I should get a wrap, tempted to just coat it and go...)
- Fourth - hitch mount for a winch that will live in the bed on off-road trips

With those out of the way I plan to pack some recovery gear, tools, a cooler, and head out on a trip to see what the TRX does stock. Is anyone planning a spring time run out west?

Then the fun should begin.
- Tune - OST
- Headers - TBD
- Exhaust - TBD
- Fuel upgrade - injectors if needed, whatever ends up being required for 1K to the wheels
- Brakes - maybe a minor tweak with pads, fluid and lines, or an upgrade with new calipers (and no, still no word back from the companies I mentioned in the brake upgrade thread)
- Bigger power adder - Pulley swap or a supercharger ... my initial thought was to go straight to a larger blower... but I might sit back and see what goes next in the driveline (between the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, and axle/front diff) and just do that as a package versus getting the blower and breaking pieces one at a time. I

- At some point I would like to see about a hidden winch mount (guessing that will require some fiddling with the intercooler, TBD)
- Maybe some skids for the control arm and shock mounts if I end up taking it on rockier trails, but I'm less worried about that at the start as I don't see myself trying to redo the body work on the TRX with a run through Little Sluice

Than you sir - I knew I forgot something in that second tranche.

My mods will be done so not to undermine my warranty (new model year so not gonna risk it). That said, will do the following:

- Tint
- Pace Edwards UltraGroove Metal Tonneau Bed Cover (ordered and being shipped now - bought from Johnny)
- Yakima or Thule accessory bracket
- cargo/basket rack
- Winch
- air compressor
- LED baja style lights
- JL Audio Stealthbox and upgraded speakers (likely JL Audio and/or Focal). Benchmark Motoring (they've done a few of my previous vehicles)
- rear seat dog cover
- ceramic
- Exhaust (if it doesn't impact warranty)
