WELL...That didn't take long! Help Identify Damages

Interesting theory, but you’re fine. They’d have to first be privy to the theft, which they wouldn’t be unless you volunteer that information. And even then, the preponderance of evidence is on the service team to assume that because it was stolen it was trashed, not only wouldn’t this hold up in the service lane, it wouldn’t hold up in court either. But take it from me, don’t volunteer unnecessary information to anyone anytime.

Additionally they’d have to prove it wasn’t you, they’d just as easily blame the LED bulb you put inside for the defect 😂
I default to "Am I understand arrest, I will not speak without my attorney present"

Allegedly the guy’s service department tried to say the amount of mud on his tires was another factor for voiding his warranty. Scary stuff. My dealership took my vehicle out joy riding while it had less than 100 miles on the odometer, and I worry that if the engine or transmission needs to be replaced that Ram will try to weasel out out the warranty because the break in procedure wasn’t followed.

Sorry to hear. Get yourself some actual security please asap. They’ll be back. Ex cop here, no neighborhood is “safe” even the most rural, neighbor watch friendly places are open to have shit bags driving through canvassing it, there’s just a higher likelihood they’ll be shot by one of the homeowners if they F around they’ll find out. You are responsible for you.

Compustar alarm with the T13 remote kit, shock and window break sensors (DASII Module) and upgrade the drone to the X1 Max so it has a backup battery inside it. That’s your remote telematics app/monitor.

AND an IGLA. The IGLA is your PIN code to start system that acts as a firewall for the canbus. No more key programming or theft. The compustar is preventative theft protection and the IGLA is your “once inside” theft prevention. The compustar system is great. They seem to be tapping the windows these days to see if they are alarmed before they strike it.

To your questions:

1. No OBD access. They simply unplug the GPS/Uconnect system from the star connector canbus module which is behind the headlight switch. They plug in their device, program a key and off they go. Takes about 1min if they aren’t morons.

2. The back window, not laminated and easy to pop. The truck has no stock shock or window break sensors. Only the front windows are laminated and are harder to break, so the bed window is a nice entry point for them. The alarm would only. Go off if they opened one of the doors from inside after they weasel themselves in. This becomes irrelevant after a key is programmed.

3. The airbag plastic covers they likely were just looking for the gps antenna cable to cut it. These guys don’t seem like pros from all the mess they left.
What IGLA product do you recommend in conjunction with the Compustar alarm?

BTW, just got the truck towed to safe and secure place; thanks to the great friends at SAINTS OFFROAD!!

I was able to shoot a few more photos to find out where the plastic lock tab came from.

We were BLOWN away to see that these butt-munchers actually must get a bonus for leaving the truck "cleaned up" because they actually put the passenger threshold cover back on...although loosely. When I removed it again...BINGO!

This must be where they disconnected the GPS system. The 'AIRBAG' plugs on the back headliner where just a false lead as they looked for the wires to cut/pull.

We'll know more on Monday after we do the diagnostic scans. I'll report back.

Wanted to copy what @BigJT36 said about these pieces which were found when I removed the front passenger threshold panel:

That appears to be the Fakra cables for the CVPM which is located behind that cover. There are some additional cables located there as well. I think the sat/sirius XM module is located behind the cover between the upper/lower glovebox.
Thanks, @BigJT36 ; I looked up FAKRA connectors and they do look like the plastic connectors can be replaced, which are just locking couplings placed over the small metal connectors.

As for the CVPM, that’s the Surround Camera system? Makes sense in terms of how many cables there are. HOWEVER, I’m still looking to see where the GPS antenna was disconnected…hopefully not cut.

I’m thankful for having you guys as a resource, as well as someone like Jon at IGLASoCal, who is coming out to help inspect and analyze the truck.

I will say, at least I’m grateful there’s not any cosmetic damage thus far. Just prayin the rear slider can be installed perfectly…oh, and that it’s actually in stock! Why do I get the sinking feeling they’re gonna tell me (for some strange reason) that they’re back ordered for weeks? 🤨

Is the Uconnect working?

Yep, those are the camera lines that connect to the CVPM. Left, right and rear to be specific based on the colors shown. Guessing they thought it was the telematics box and probably put the kick panel back on out of embarrassment for unplugging the wrong shit.

Oh. That’s interesting! I wondered the same thing. Had me thinking that these bozos must get paid more for cleaning their shot up!

I’m still amazed to not find more glass and, in fact, it seems as though they took the glass that was stuck to the tint away.

I was able to get my rear slider from a place out in the valley from a dealer back in January. They said they had a few of them in stock. Let me know if you can't find a place closer to you and I'll get you their contact information.

I think I will have this conversation with a service manager today.
Warranty is when something related to the manufacturing of the vehicle is bad. Insurance is when its stolen and recovered. If the engine/trans is affected from the theft the insurance would fix it

Man, you are awesome thank you very much for the offer! I truly appreciate the help.

Thank you. I wasn’t concerned with the repairs so much as the history and record of the vehicle in terms of future resale, history, Carfax, etc., etc. etc..

Truck won’t start. Display says UCONNECT BOX error.
When you get your keys reprogrammed back to your truck if the Uconnect won't turn on its most likely a fuse. When the pricks took mine they were very quick and efficient. Very minimal damage, they didn't yank or cut any wires. They pulled the fuse for the Uconnect which international disables the GPS unit. Pull the panel under your steering coloum off and see if the fuse is missing.

The sgw disconnected will do the same with the uconnect

Perfect. Thanks!

My fobs DO work, in terms of activating, lock/unlock…but the cranks but doesn’t start.
