took a few days off from this post to calm down and search for another vehicle. thanks to a few on here who helped find some new and used TRXs, but I think I'm done with super trucks. It was too big to fit in my garage, so it had to stay parked outside. I was prepared to get IGLA, Compustar Drone, IEDs, etc but when one of the guys helping me search for another TRX said he has personally stopped someone who rolled up to his house with a flat bed, it occurred to me that it'll be impossible to have peace of mind with another TRX. so, now I have to figure out what other vehicle can meet my needs. I may get something unsuspecting, (a sleeper instead of a super truck) and put a bunch of suspension for off-road trail driving (not a rock crawler), light towing, and has some decent power.

I asked ChatGPT, and here's what it recommended to start with and then mod: Lexus GX550 Overtrail (Luxury Toyota Land Cruiser), Toyota Land Cruiser (100/200 Series or New 2024 Model), 2024 Ford F-150 Tremor (5.0L V8 or 3.5L EcoBoost), Toyota Tundra Platinum or Limited (Twin-Turbo Hybrid V6), Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 (6.2L V8). Also, I saw one of these on the road yesterday which caught my attention: 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate.

Anyone seen any of these turn out cool with some aftermarket mods?

I don’t blame you bud. The fact that 10% of the people who answered this poll said they have had an attempt is disturbing.

The GX550 is actually a Lexus version of the rest of the world’s Toyota Prado. The LX600/LX700h is a luxurious version of the Land Cruiser (LC300) that they decided to bring to the US and not the Toyota variant. Both are great vehicles, but what kind of mods and what are you looking to do with them? The TRX is a completely different type of vehicle and I’m looking at the LX700h Overtrail to replace my Wrangler 392 while keeping the TRX for towing, hunting and desert runs.

The other trucks you mentioned are just regular trucks so if you have no need for what the TRX offers as a streetable desert beast, they’ll serve you well and maybe even better if you plan to tow heavier loads. Out of those trucks options, I’d consider a F150 and slap on the Ford supercharger to give me the feel of a Temu TRX as far as speed goes. Those Predator engines are fairly mod friendly.
Great assessment on the GX550 and LX600. I'd get the TRX again if I could fit it in my garage, but it will always be a target parked outside. (I was even looking into putting popup retractable bollards around my driveway).

Insurance claim question for those who have had theirs stolen...how was it dealing with your insurance? I have no idea how much they'll offer me...how hard I'll have to fight them...what I base my claim on (high demand, discontinued, the few new ones remaining go for 50% more than what I paid, etc)

Just an fyi, every vehicle you posted is stolen as well, some of them more than trx’s. If they can make money on it they will come to try and take it. GM vehicles are probably number one right now, then acura, toyota/lexus.

yep, I get that, but they are smaller and can be locked away in my garage

That only helps when they are in the garage and that doesn’t stop some of them. Just giving you all the facts. You have to drive them, they will get them at that point

That’s true, but I primarily drove it between my house and my cabin in a remote area of West Virginia. So I would welcome them with open arms and lots of firearms out at that end.

Park new TRX outside with IGLA and replace badges with RHO. 100% theft proof.

I think they will steal the RHO tagged TRX anyway. An old cop here told me they steal ANYTHING and ship it overseas, even and old banged up steamroller.

Dang man. Sorry to hear. I grew up in NoVA and it seems to be more common for all vehicles.

I also use a Faraday and lock it in my garage, but always a little worried going places
