Want to buy Base model

Just not a fan of all of the babysitters and gadgets. I want the engine and the looks but not the tech. Forum member Eighty also commented in another thread on how rare and typically not sought after they are.
They are lighter too.
Sunroof, beadlocks all adds up weight.
A member here with a bone base has ran 11s on 1/4 full stock.

That is crazy fast for a massive factory spec truck.

Others have said the same when it comes to the base model just feeling lighter and more nimble. I will keep searching. Another one will pop up eventually.
I'd be willing to bet most of the weight savings would come from lack of the sunroof. I've never been able to find the added weight of that option on a Ram. Ford publishes the weight of all their options though and the twin panel sunroof adds 64 lbs to a F150. The design on the Ram looks pretty similar so I'd think the weight would be about the same. That doesn't sound like a lot of weight until you consider it's at the highest point of the truck also.

True.
One takes off that tail gate side step thing and the spare tire, you will be shaving off another 200-250lbs.
Everything adds up

- Interesting Post/Request by the OP. I understand.
Truck 05-10-2023 - 1.webp

- I purchased a Red TRX [MY23] with Level 1. I wanted Level 2 only for a few items [not all of them].
- I really enjoy it, but I am researching the installation "Kits" for two (2) items: The 360 Surround View & the Digital Rear View Mirror.
- Both are great safety devices. The TRX is wider - Which I Love - Yet, drivers have a tendency to mis-judge easily.
- I agree with the OP. A lot of the Level 2 items are more than I'd want. Yet, everyone has preferences.
- I was unaware that ALL MY24 will be Level 2. Thanks for that info.

Per Ram’s specs, the power sunroof adds:
19.04 lbs to the front axle
14.13 lbs to the rear axle
Total of 33.17 lbs

Not all of the 2024’s are Level 2. As of right now:
Level 2: 2,417
Level 1: 213
What’s not clear to me is if the Level 1’s are converted orders from 2023.

Interesting, guess there is less quite a bit less difference since the Ford body is aluminum. That’s about the same same weight difference Ford lists for a standard sunroof (not dual pane). Does Ram have a complete breakdown of weight by option like Ford does?

This is an older document, from when the 5th Gen Ram DT first came out. The TRX doesn't even appear in the list, as it didn't exist then. But most of the option weights are in here, and I don't see why they would have changed.

I have massive regrets swapping my ‘22 base for a loaded ‘23. I made sure I ordered the base with a trailer brake controller, only two other things I wish it had were 360 cameras and heated seats (wife always gave me shit about the seats). Also, I found it very odd that it didn’t have a defroster for the rear window, I didn’t even realize that until one time we had freezing rain.

I have two young kids, I never worried about them beating up the base interior, it was nearly bombproof. Level 1&2 are pretty for sure though.

rare, but also the least valuable. I would say the launch edition is the rarest and has a better chance of holding value.
Im not concerned about holding value. Obviously I don’t want a vehicle that tanks in value but Im also not collector car shopping.

I understand that you were not looking at that. I was just saying that in the context of the level zero being the rarest(which I don’t feel it is)and not wanting anyone to think that means increases resale value lol. I could be completely wrong 20 years from now but I don’t think it will equate to that.

also if so I completely screwed myself buy upgrading my truck :ROFLMAO:

It will be very interesting to see which Hellcat powered vehicles hold the most value. I have a feeling the low mileage TRXs will be somewhat of a collector vehicle. Cars such as the Demon is a given.

Funny how the title specifically says looking for a base model so you post that you are selling a level 2.
Its ok. My threads are 100% open to everyone to chat. The more views and posts the better chance of me finding one.
