Agreed. I haven’t really kept up with new vehicle prices since I already had my dream vehicle but damn I paid $76k msrp for a tr1, bed utility, remote start. A regular 1500 Laramie is about $65k now! I’m disillusioned right now. I’ve always had fast fun cars since I was 18 years old. Now at 38 years old maybe it’s time to be a grown up. You just can’t have nice things anymore in this day and age.

You can still have nice stuff......but we all just have to understand the emerging risks and do what we can to mitigate those risks. Life is dangerous!

My TRX was stolen two nights ago from in front of my house. Broken glass and gone in about 45 seconds. No leads. Already counting it as a total loss. Had it almost 3 years and I know I’ll never own one again because I know it’s too late to find another. I’ll miss it.

sorry to hear that. Mines been gone a little over a week and just starting to think more clearly. This is really getting out of hand. Crime is out of control and anyone who has anything nice is at risk. Unfortunately, this seems part of the socialist agenda and why no one seems to care. The left thinks you shouldn’t have nice things and it’s not fair to others. Biden was more apologetic for calling the illegal who murdered a young girl an illegal than outraged that a young life was taken away. I don’t mean to get political but I’m getting really frustrated with this bs. Rant over.
On a better note, if you want to replace it, there are lots of options out there.

i don’t really think what I’m saying is political vs. just reality. When you have a catch and release atmosphere when it comes to crime(especially vehicles) of course its going to become common place and not slow down. Having said that since it is not priority for that to change you have to be proactive to keep what is yours without putting yourself in jail because in that case it won’t be catch and release.

I was just reading a post on this forum the other day. The members profile caught my eye because his screenname appeared to be his real first and last name. That by itself isn't a big deal, but right under his name was his street address with a Google Maps hyperlink. I took a look at his post history/pics: He parks his TRX under a carport with no aftermarket security! I don't know, maybe he's doing it to bait someone into stealing his truck, so he can bust a cap in their ass. Most likely, he's just not using his head.

The above example is extreme, but until WE take responsibility for keeping our shit, theft is going to continue to spiral out of control. Hoping for the police or the federal government to change laws that will somehow deter this behavior, is a flawed strategy...it's just not going to happen.

Sorry that you have the mentality to victim blame. Thankfully I wasn’t car jacked so my family wasn’t put in danger for a material item.

Luckily I have full coverage and blue book on the truck is $83k-88k. Truck is paid off, pink slip in hand.

I doubt the truck is found in one piece. I’m just going to get a regular vehicle to replace it for the time being.

I see you are the only one not getting what I am saying, and would have tried elaborating on my point if you were 10 yrs old. At 38 you should know better, and instead of playing the victim card you own your mistake and do better going forward. That would save the tax payers a lot of money and rid the earth of vile animals masquerading as human beings. As for thieves engaging in GTA, immediate amputation of the dominant hand and 5 years in prison to figure out what to do with the remaining hand and the chance to become a contributing member of society. BTW, I am one of the many that bought a Ravelco. Spent 3 nights at a B&B this week in Texas and the owner swung by in his sweet 2024 2500 AEV, and guess what he had for security.....oh boy.
