TRX Production Latest "Confirmed" Update Thread

Yes, read a few posts now where people traded in their current trucks/cars. That sucks. Pretty much resolved to myself that I might see my truck in January or February so the "pain" has subsided while i refocus on other things. Rivian R1T configurator comes out Monday so probably going to entertain myself with that - waiting for the bigger battery option that wont come out til January, 2022. Will have to decide if I hold on to the TRX or switch over to R1T or if i can find a way to extend to the driveway, have both.
I just saw a video on TFL on YT stating there’s a delay with the R1T. I’ll just attach the video here. It might be old news to you, but I haven’t followed this truck at all.

I traded in my wife's Durango as the trade in price was right and got her a Tesla lease. So other then me giving the dealer 34K interest free loan for the duration it is just the wait that is annoying

Been following the R1T for a bit and yes, it was delayed yet another 6 mos til next Summer. Lots of money/investment behind Rivian so I am sure they will get it done but who knows when exactly. If you are in to fast golf carts with performance specs that blow even the TRX away, its worth a look. Still onboard the TRX train unless it continues to delay into the Spring. As i said, i would wait for the larger batter in the R1T which isnt expected til next January - also rather go with second generation of the e-Truck anyway.

yeah, I’ll be getting the R1S (the suv) as my family hauler. But like you, im waiting for the 400+ range.

I was interested in the R1S but think I'll be more interested when Hummer comes out with the SUV EV. From pictures, the Rivian's don't look too big

i think the bollinger hits

the right spot on style, but the rivian may have the best end user everyday vehicle.

I might be smoking something, but I swear Rivian had their dimensions published and it was distinctly smaller than most half tons. I think that was what turned me away. I can’t fit a dog and quickly growing kids in the backseat.

Did some checking - you are right .... smaller - With that said, there is a lot less "stuff" in these EVs so there may be more room inside relatively given its size but not in the bed of course. Don't see the R1T inside dimensions to do that level of comparison - i think they are out there just didnt have time to search.

Length (inches)
TRX 232.9 R1T 218
Width, without mirrors (inches)
TRX 88 R1T 79
Height (inches)
TRX 80.9 R1T 72

BED length x width
TRX - 67x66 R1T - 54x51

Roughly the size of a Gladiator. I sat in one recently and felt it is way too small

As there is lack of proactive, insightful or frankly any information from FCA and RAM, thought we could consolidate any confirmed updates within this thread as updates are starting to spread out across a bunch of other threads. Confirmed - meaning something beyond a robotic response from the FCA chat or customer service line, like from a trusted dealer or Ram executive. I have stopped asking both my dealer and FCA as neither have anything to say other than ... production hasnt started or there are some part/engine constraints or I will let you know when i hear something. Don't expect that there will be much to add for a bit here, but put a watch on this thread and add a post when you got something of interest.

I followed up with my salesmen yesterday. He checked his system which still showed D1. He then called his Rep who then checked their system and they said — it shows a “ship date that is coming soon”. Haha - I hope that means next week. Not much info. But it’s something.

A week or two ago, my rep said he didn’t think the vehicle status was being updated appropriately on the factory side. He noted their dealership was getting vehicle deliveries for units that were still showing pre-shipment status’s. Again - this isn’t much information. But it is something.

On a separate note, does every TRX build come with the “5 gallons of additional gas”? I didn’t see that as an option. Does someone know what the total tank size is?

Pretty sure the tank is 33 gallon. I think every build sheet I have ever seen from Mopar shows that 5 gallons of gas thing.

My dealer says mine is in D status, whatever that means. It was ordered the first day orders were taken. I was 1 of 3 allotted. We shall see,,, ready for my raptor killer!!

33 gallons is correct per ramtrucks.com. Bigger is better on these thirsty engines.

"D – Firm schedule: serial number assigned. Firm order. Your order now has a name instead of a number" (copied from a post on hdrams.com)

Basically, the plant is working on compiling the components for your truck. You are guaranteed to be built at some point is some order we can't figure out... I am guessing at "D" we are assigned a production week of the TRX... when week 1 of the official production starts we do not know, but it seems to keep slipping.

Welcome to the waiting room. We are all excited.

I just hope they build them before Sleepy Joe, Kamala, and AOC mandate the ICE out of existence. Hold your Hellcats and Demons if you got’em Boys. Never ever ever going to see anything like what we have today. What we get might be better in some respects but it will not be the same.
We better get them quickly. They will be classics

Here is my frustrating order for a GT350R: speced , ordered and deposit made July of 2019. Informed it would be built in September and delivered in late October. Very excited. Remodeled the garage in anticipation. Month after month told it was on time until October. Told parts were delayed. Then told the same thing every month until March of 2020, when I said give me my money back. Took 10 more weeks to get my money and car still never arrived. Dealer said ultimately the allocation was never delivered. ☹️
so this time, I’m trying to simply forget about it until I see a thread on here of actual deliveries. Meaning pictures of trucks with the face of their happy owners. Then I’m a believer!
Pictures should look like this: (except with a truck)

Facts that I have this moment.
Full production at SHAP, plant where TRX is being built, is scheduled for 1/4/21.

The union silenced workers from positing on social media stating FCA/Union management watches social media sites. (Not going to post screenshot I have)

Mexico is allowing a Chinese company to setup a trial vaccine center in the area where FCA plant is. This matters because the engine comes from there and the plant is in a COVID hotspot https://www.excelsior.com.mx/nacion...as-de-vacuna-contra-covid-en-saltillo/1416353

Having said all that, best case scenario I'm thinking if they don't shut down the plants in Michigan, we would probably start seeing trucks in the mid/late January getting delivered. If they can build at least 20 trucks a week, per shift, then you can get out almost 750 trucks by the end of Q1

actually, according to an october article the AWS (alternative work schedule) is a 12 hour, 7 day work schedule. this memo may just mean they are going tback to original (traditional) 5 day schedule at start of new year. doesnt necessarily mean production cant start in the next few weeks, if it hasnt already
