2022 Ram TRX
Hi all,

I've got a TRX on order from the dealer near me(Airpark Dodge Jeep Chrysler) in Arizona. I placed the order back in early February(so I'm not expecting it to be built just yet). The order is stuck in a pre-scheduling status, which one or what the reason code is Ram won't provide to me via chat. They said I need to contact the dealer. I've texted the guy at the dealer a few times and the text gets read but no reply. For reference, buying this as an individual, not a company. Dealer has a sizable downpayment. This is the only TRX I've bought/ordered. I currently own a Ram that I bought off the lot about 2.5 years ago(its a 21 Limited).

Would anyone have any ideas on what might have caused the order to get stuck? I'm going to go into the dealer this weekend and talk to them to find out why they aren't replying and see if I can figure out what's going on from them as well.

What code are you stuck in?

Unscheduled:
BA – order entered in system by dealer
BB – fleet order only – review by bid department
BD – special equipment processing
BE – edit error – coding error which must be corrected before order can be scheduled
BG – order has passed edit but cannot be scheduled regardless of sold status
BX – good order available for scheduling

Reason Codes:
F – Finance hold – automatic cancellation after 15 days
B – Model or option build out. Your order exists but isn't fully confirmed yet. Plant doesn't know about it yet. Systems are checking the order to ensure it's valid in terms of sales codes.
L – Material restriction
M – Material hold (fleet)
ZA – canceled order

Scheduled:
C – Tentative schedule. Your order is "subfirm". The plant can see the order at this point but it's not fully committed to building as the supplier may or may not be able to get parts to the plant to build the vehicle.
D – Firm schedule: serial number assigned. Firm order. Your order now has a name instead of a number:
D1 – Gate line: unit sequenced for production, est. ship date assigned.
The date is set for your truck to be built. The plant knows when it should have parts sequenced for building and it should start to be built within 48 hours of the date set.
D2 - It's going to be built. The computers are being programmed, materials are being sequenced, framing is about to occur.

It's not stuck. It is the same waiting game (almost) everyone has to play. I ordered 10/28, stayed in D status until late February, built in late March, and currently have no idea where the truck even is, let alone when it will be at the dealer. It's a shit show.

Ram chat won't provide the codes. They said they no longer provide them, just a description. She said it's still waiting to be scheduled and they've reached out to the dealer. Based off that it made it sound as though something was wrong but she wouldn't provide any additional information. Still haven't heard back from the dealer on it.

Your dealer can give you and updated POC, the code will be on there.

Sounds like typical D status or as they say “scheduling phase”

Thank you sir. GREAT informations

It has not been very long. I highly recommend that you cancel and reorder with one of the forum dealers. I’m in AZ as well and had initially placed an order with a local dealer in May of last year. They were extremely difficult to get information from and just treated me poorly. After 7+ months with no truck and no reassurance from the dealer, I canceled the order.

I ordered again with Dan Cummins on 1/1/22 and the truck is currently awaiting shipping. So, it got built faster and I saved a ton of money.

Cancel your order. Do really want to give $100k to a dealer that has ignored you?

This is not what I wanted to hear. My local dealer here in Pittsburgh is calling me today to let me know if I can put an order in through them for my Trx at invoice and if so I’m going to do it. So what’s up with “smaller” dealers and ordering a Trx? I’ve read a few stories where people order them at a local smaller dealership and it’s taking close to a year to be built and show up. That’s just crazy - do they not have the man power to build these things or what? Not enough plant workers? Can it really still be a computer chip issue? I’d just love to know what takes so long, yet I can have a 22 limited optioned all the way up and built in 8-12 weeks? Or is that a lie from the 2 dealers I spoke to…

I bought off the lot about 2.5 years ago(its a 21 Limited).
If it is as simple as being in D ...then it's just a wait. I know the system has been down over 2 weeks.... Very frustrating that your dealer isn't helping much.

You bought a 2021 off the the lot at the end of 2019 ?

@SneekEm and @Tahua,

Before you (or anyone here) takes drastic action, I strongly recommend that you surf around the threads in this forum for information and context in the current climate. Not saying you are going to love what you find, but at least you will be informed. I ordered my 2022 TRX in Nov 2021, have been active on this forum since then, and I still do not have my TRX in hand. Nor do I know where it is, since Ram's tracking system (3rd party provided) has been down for over two weeks.

Take these with a grain of salt if you like, but here are some salient things I have learned over the past 5+ months:

  • This is going to take TIME. Lots of reasons for that (COVID, supply chains, Ram incompetency, the Boogeyman, whatever), but regardless of the reasons, the length of time will not change much. I am at 5+ months with no truck. Others here are at 9+ months. Some have gotten their truck in less than 2 months. It makes no sense. If i were you, I would go into a new order thinking it will be 6 months at least.
  • It would APPEAR, not based on a ton of evidence but at least on some evidence, that there are only 2 things YOU can do to speed up delivery of your TRX. #1 - Order it with less options if you are cool with that. Base trucks get built faster than Level 1 trucks, and Level 1 trucks get built faster than Level 2s. #2 - Order it from a dealer who has an actual allocation for the truck. Allocations are prioritized by Ram for build. Any other order just gets in the back of the line somewhere regardless of who ordered it.
  • Most dealers sell new TRXs for MSRP or higher, even if you order one. The only real exceptions to that rule are Ram "Power Brokers," several of whom are active on this forum (Granger, Koons, Cummins, etc.). You will be able to order one from them for many thousands under MSRP, but, unless they happen to be near you, you will also have to arrange to have the truck shipped to you via 3rd party, or fly out yourself and drive it back. Many here have done both to get the discount, and many have not. Personal choice.
I hope this has helped.

Can anyone add me to the list for tracking ?

Ram chat said materials are gathered and I’m in assembly ladder entering build time shortly.

Sorry to hear that OP. Stay patient. I’d definitely consider a bigger dealer at invoice or below in Kentucky. Dan Cummins or other big boys. Perhaps their orders get built a bit faster. What did you put down, 1k? You can always get your deposit back and see what’s built faster. Good luck my man.

You can add yourself - https://www.ram-trx.com/threads/2022-ram-tracker.4987/

Good catch, 1.5 years ago :) End of 2020.

This is pretty much what I was expecting when I ordered, around 6-8 months, I was primarily concerned with the response from Ram chat which made it sound like there was an issue with the order. From comments of other people on here it sounds like it's normal and possibly just bad phrasing from the Ram chat person. I wish I had known about the discounts through other dealers before I had ordered... I had some issues with my '21 and rather than go the lemon law route, this dealer offered to buy it back for market value + $2k(locked in at the time I ordered but I get to keep driving the current truck as a "loaner") if I was willing to do the purchase with them, which they did at MSRP. Most(maybe all) of the other Phoenix area dealers wanted $15-25k over MSRP to order one, so at the time it seemed like these guys were being pretty reasonable and accommodating.

No worries, and I seriously doubt there is an issue with your order. It's just indicative of the stupid long process we are all going though. You are also not getting a horrible deal at MSRP, so don't sweat that. Many members on here have paid more. The point is to really enjoy what you bought!

If however you find that it gets under your skin, you have the option of walking away from your deposit, and ordering with one of the big discount dealers. Overall it might still save you money. It will also reset the clock, and you have to also consider the cost of having to ship it to you, or flying to go get it and drive it back. Your call of course.

As a further word to the wise, Ram Chat is PRETTY useless in general, so I would not bother with them. I have many experiences with them, almost none of them good. The only solid info you are going to get is by being a savvy user of this forum, and by working directly with your dealer. If the sales rep isn't responsive to your texts, I'd call the dealer directly and ask their sales manager for the info you need. That should help get results, and likely light a fire under your sales rep.

Ordered 5 days after you, BS 3/14, WS 3/28, in shipping 4/2….somewhere between MI and dealer. If we ever get some warm dry days here n MN will hop on the fat boy to pass the time. I think this system down issue has paused movement and when back up we’ll see em show up in a few weeks.
