TRX Gas Mileage

IMG_0569.jpeg

The last 4000k miles I’ve averaged 11MPGs - that’s a mix of highway and city. The best I’ve been able to achieve is 15MPG on the highway. To get that you have to be really soft on that right peddle.
I don’t know how you managed to get 15, I had a 10.5 hour drive home from Koons. And averaged high 12’s at best

Usually between 12-13 or so. Mixed rural higher speed roads and city.

Basically if it goes lower, it just means I’ve enjoyed driving it more. F it 😂

It seems around 55 mph is the optimum fuel mileage speed.

Easy on the acceleration, of course. It has so much torque that it will upshift early if you let it.

Don't sit at traffic lights. You can just watch the average mpg drop while sitting at a light.

and here i was thinking the optimum fuel mileage speed was parked in your garage.

New tires, steady 75-80 on ACC yielded 12.7 mpg on I91

Hardly any city driving and very few stoplights, but 80-90 mph on 2-laners for the most part. And generally stomping on it when passing someone.
Average speed overall is a surprisingly low 52 mph. Had expected closer to 70.

Worst tank so far was 12.89, with a best of 15.00. That best one really doesn't count as in included most of the break-in. From new until now the average is 13.99 mpg.

I got this almost a couple hundred miles on highway. I changed the stock air filters with aFe oiled ones.

Then got into the city and well... The urge for flooring it got the best of me. :) Back down to 10-11 MPG after that.

I’ve never reset my fuel economy… but hover in the 8/9’s except for long road trips which bring it back up to the 10-12s depending on how far I’m going… drops back to single digits quickly…thank goodness for Costco 93 at $3.85 p/g.

Unless they have changed things, the Lie-O-Meter averages out the last 200-300 miles. It's not a lifetime average.
Or necessarily even correct.
I’m not overly concerned getting about 325-350 miles per tank on avg

Yeah, if I were concerned with the mileage, I sure wouldn't drive the TRX. But I don't mind that it's as "good" as it is.
Based on what the Trackhawk got I expected quite a bit worse.

I average 8.5 with 85% street driving on 37s. Worth every penny.

The TRX is definitely good for some pretty wild fuel economy fluctuations based on mods, conditions and how you drive it. In the winter it’ll hang in the mid to upper 8s if I remote start, stay around town and have some fun playing in the snow.

Being more responsible my best winter highway trip was 13.6 on stock tires. Average speed ~65. And that same trip on the 32” street tires and decent summer conditions was just good for 15.96. All hand calculated. I guess I own one of the most efficient AND least efficient TRXs depending on when you catch me…

1st tank on the way home was around 10.8 highway/Interstate, 2nd tank was 10.2 around town. Currently hovering around 10 in town, still, my PowerWagon only got 9.5-10 in the winter around town as well and this one is more fun.

Oh and I'll take mean tweets over corrupt senile communists any day of the week.
Oh heck yeah and the tweets were mean AND funny

Can't help but compare it to the Ram 3500, which generally gets around 8-9...but that's pulling 20-25K. That number would surely increase quite a bit if not trying to keep it at 80 whenever possible.

Also, my 359 Peterbilt would usually get 8, at slightly slower speeds and about the same total weight as the 3500, but far worse aerodynamics.

Looking at it that way, my almost 14 mpg with the TRX is pretty dismal.
