Truck Stolen - IGLA Equipped (Orange County, CA)

You nailed it. They're all theories.
As for the AirTags, if you don't already know, if the thief has an iPhone, they will get a notification that they're being followed. This is why people should disable the speaker of the AirTag because it will beep at you so you can find it.
Clarification on AirTags... yes you can remove the speaker in the AirTag, BUT.... Any iPhone or Android phone can still locate the AirTag. On iPhone, you use the FIndMy app and it will point you in the direction of the AirTag, allowing you to pinpoint it and find it, with no speaker. Don't know this is done on Android as to whether it's a built-in app or must be added via an app store. So the removal of the AirTag speaker is just another tactic to slow down the thief, but does not prevent them from finding it.

When I picked up my Challenger from the dealership, I got multiple key fobs and tons of paperwork. I put all this stuff in the trunk and shut it. It immediately popped back open. I tried closing it again and it popped open again. An employee asked if I had put the extra fobs in the trunk. Dude must have thought I was a moron because I removed the extra fobs and then the trunk would actually stay shut.

My OEM fob for the TRX is hardwired and permanently mounted in the truck with the Compustar Keylocker so I only have to carry the Compustar fob with me. So it would seem you can lock an OEM fob in the truck but maybe the Keylocker enables that?
How is a key fob "hardwired" in the truck? What is the reason for this?

It has a battery emulator (if used) that powers it on unlock. Compustar can also lock the doors with oem keys inside.

The battery emulator is "hardwired" to the truck to prevent a dead key fob battery when the OEM fob is inside the Keylocker. This wiring to the fob also allows Compustar to interact with it, I believe.

Helps having multiple of them and hiding them in a place where it requires removal of panels or parts to gain access to it. Don’t ever make it easy for yourself or others when it comes down to security.

It's built in, settings, safety and emergency page, you can have it set to find and notify automatically or you can scan for trackers. Nice thing if anything feels off when you get back in just scan and if detected report.

Correct. Fake battery with a positive and negative wire to the keylocker. Press unlock and it powers on the key fob. Lock it (or it times out) and fob goes dead again.

what if you use keylocker to store the ram key fob, but the key fob isn't hardwired. Any negatives to this with compustar?

Its also a faraday box. If you have IGLA paired with it then shouldn’t be an issue

Did you have that Z box which is not a real alarm the one that plugs into the obd

I didn't know it's a faraday box. How does the vehicle RF hub get the signal that the key fob is in inside the vehicle to allow it to start, if it's a faraday box? Don't faraday block signal?

Yes I have IGLA.

Yes I have IGLA.
It is like a key wrap and sends the signal digitally.

Perhaps the shop that installed the IGLA has something to do with it ... just saying.

Seriously… stupidest comment yet. If they wanted it then the IGLA would have been pulled first thing. Common sense… just saying

I could care less about the replacement, clearly we all(at least smart ones) have insurance. It's about losing YOUR truck and because you can't get a new one to replace it you will at best be getting some 2nd hand vehicle from who knows.

Has anyone been following the anti theft module Dodge has coming out soon?
Dont want to put too much hope in it, at least they are acknowledging their vehicles lack of any security
Found out from a member here that this plugs into the secondary harness on a charger/challenger on the passenger side and interrupts the signal, the wire hanging off is for a siren if the hood is opened. Unplug and its done. Tazer is more effective he said 🤣

No one can for sure say this is impossible (well, they can say it). I had my suspicions about my installer, not that he gave me any reason for suspicion, I just have the fear now and I trust no one. He made a point to tell me he doesn't collect addresses or any info other than name, but given all the info he had it wouldn't be difficult to find out where I live and work.

That is understandable but if an installer wanted it then it wouldn’t be found and there would be far more vehicles missing. They would all come back to one set point, the installer. We have far too much to lose and wouldn’t be taking a common vehicle like a mopar. We cover almost all makes and models and do far more desirable vehicles. I have done 5 new turbo s’s and 911 turbo’s this year alone. When a maybach comes in that would be the one that should worry and yes, we do them as well.
I don’t record names/address’s either and turn my back when a customer sets a pin. One, a member here forgot his pin 3 times while setting it, still turned around. Only time I have customer information is if I fly to them.
