I'm having a transmission issue and was hoping someone in the forum may have experienced something similar and found a solution.
The problem is intermittent - Typically once the truck is warm. When I'm in park and try to shift into any gear the selector light flashes, it throws code P1B14, and says return shifter to park. I've found that by disconnecting the battery for a while and clearing the fault I can eventually get it to go into gear. If I'm on a hill and can get the truck to roll a bit, shifting into the gear that it's rolling towards (shifting into drive if I'm pointed downhill or R if I'm pointed uphill), that also gets in to go into gear.
Once I'm in gear there are zero issues until I put in park again. No slipping, shifts feel normal. I can shift between drive, reverse, and neutral all I want with no issue. Once I put it in park again, especially if I've been driving a while, it throws the code and won't come back out of park. I have a new filter and trans fluid on the way and am going to do a fluid change and perform the top off procedure in the off chance that my fluid is low. My only other thought is that something could be clogged in the valve body that's obstructing the hydraulic pressure that shifts it out of park.
