Is anyone interested in a harness to wire in a kill switch for the start button? I did not want to cut factory wiring so I made a harness with factory plugs and 2 wires that will lead to a kill switch. $25 shipped. View attachment 57316

So after several weeks, I finally got around to installing the kill switch. For those of you who don't know or haven't had the pleasure of a blown 15A P24 fuse.... if everything gets fubar'd and nothing works in the cab, check that before doing anything else.... Sometimes you can accidentally ground a connection and blow that fuse, it happened to me and several other people here. Once its all set up though, works like a charm, easy to install and remove if you need to return to stock. Also, the blue-sea switches recommended on here only have 2 posts, no need to ground, and no orientation on the wiring (from what i've read, can't really screw it up). Please note i'm no electrician, and dont pretend to be an expert.. just trying to help anybody else who may run into a snag installing this great piece of gear.

Yup - I did that - needed the micro fuse - had none - neither did O Reliys, had to hit autozone. Bought a box of them, it was typical - everything going well then touched off the IP structure, a pop and its dead.

Can I buy the switch at an O reilliy's or advance?, I should be receiving it today and I'm heading on a 2 day trip tomorrow evening and would like to have it installed before I leave. Also if I disconnect the battery do I still run the chance of blowing the fuse?

Any toggle switch is going to work, you can pick something up at local parts store, make sure to get spade connectors(18-22awg) for the switch terminals. If you use insulated connectors, you will not blow any fuse.
