So here's the box of tools we used to do the plugs. Honestly not as bad as i thought they'd be. It did take about 6-7 hours but we were doing other things to give our arms a break. You will lose feeling in your hands quite a bit so just take your time. We lost 1 coil pack bolt that rolled down into the abyss. Simple M6 x 1" replacement in the toolbox did the trick. I didnt see any torque specs on the coil pack but based on my torque wrench, i'd say ours were torqued to around 50-55 in-lbs. I torqued em to 60 in-lbs when i reinstalled.

Hardest thing was to get the coil pack reinstalled on the front driver & the rear driver. You will have to play an extension game when doing a few the plugs on the driver's side. You'll need to put a short extension/wobble bar on the spark plug socket, drop that down in the hole (not all the way), then hook another extension or wobble bar to your short extension, drop that down into the hole and then attach ur ratchet to the part that's breached the top of the hole. There's very little clearance in some locations so you'll figure out the extension game pretty quickly. Just be sure you're not 100% fatigued before you play that game. You dont wanna start dropping stuff into random holes lolol :ROFLMAO:

We did record a good portion of it with my oakley sunglasses so if somebody wants that footage, maybe i'll piece it together into a chronological masterpiece. 🫣

Some horror stories in this thread. I'm at 82k miles now and I never changed the plugs. Gas mileage is the same, performance "seems" to be the same, no mis fires, quick starts, etc.... But still, it's about time I think.

Never changed the brakes (disk or pads) either. Looked at them a few days ago and they still have good pad left.

Horror stories? None of the plugs I’ve seen in this thread look bad at all. Not even a little bit concerning actually.

The TRX documentation calls for replacement at 60k, which is funny because I actually had to argue with the service manager about it (he swore it was 100k). After I showed him the requirement, he said he was looking up a regular gas engine (not the 6.2L SRT). That filled me with a lot of confidence, lol.
But I'm pretty sure it would be fine for a fair bit longer than 60k. Not sure I'd push it past 80k though. And definitely not 100k.

Agreed. Electrode erosion is a thing. Eventually the plug gap will creep past optimum and start stressing things. So as a precaution I’ve always changed out plugs around 50-60k miles… even the exotic ones (iridium, etc). Even if the recommendation is 100k.

My Fords would get them sooner. Just because I lived through the nightmare of the Triton motors. Did you know they make an extractor tool for those broken plugs? Did you know they make an extractor tool for the extractor tool…. Yeah. My Lightning used to spit plugs out of the cylinder head too, just randomly, like a baseball player spiting sunflower seeds. 🥳

Not the plugs, they looked okay. Horror stories about how much time and effort it takes to replace them. You see, I haven't kept a vehicle long enough to need to change the plugs in over 30 years but I really like this TRX.
