Horror stories? None of the plugs I’ve seen in this thread look bad at all. Not even a little bit concerning actually. Some horror stories in this thread. I'm at 82k miles now and I never changed the plugs. Gas mileage is the same, performance "seems" to be the same, no mis fires, quick starts, etc.... But still, it's about time I think.
Never changed the brakes (disk or pads) either. Looked at them a few days ago and they still have good pad left.
The TRX documentation calls for replacement at 60k, which is funny because I actually had to argue with the service manager about it (he swore it was 100k). After I showed him the requirement, he said he was looking up a regular gas engine (not the 6.2L SRT). That filled me with a lot of confidence, lol. Some horror stories in this thread. Agreed. Electrode erosion is a thing. Eventually the plug gap will creep past optimum and start stressing things. So as a precaution I’ve always changed out plugs around 50-60k miles… even the exotic ones (iridium, etc). Even if the recommendation is 100k.The TRX documentation calls for replacement at 60k, which is funny because I actually had to argue with the service manager about it (he swore it was 100k). But I'm pretty sure it would be fine for a fair bit longer than 60k. Not sure I'd push it past 80k though. And definitely not 100k.
So are these better than iridium plugs?Soon….
Not the plugs, they looked okay. Horror stories about how much time and effort it takes to replace them. You see, I haven't kept a vehicle long enough to need to change the plugs in over 30 years but I really like this TRX.Horror stories? None of the plugs I’ve seen in this thread look bad at all.
