Radar Detector Battle: Redline 360c vs Valentine V1 Gen2

Im on advanced logic mode as well (small L) and I get random spurts of Laser warning for no apparent reason. Even in parking lots or in my driveway. I just unplug the radar and that usually resets the issue but it is a bit annoying. That's the only thing i can really complain about. I use the same detector in multiple cars so i can't speak to any sort of blendmount or integrated install.

Advanced logic is the big L. Normal logic mode is the small L. It is recommended to run the normal logic mode if you use any kind of phone apps with the detector.

Either way, the logic modes only affect filtering on K and X bands, so it wouldn’t have anything to do with your issue. Is your detector on the latest update? There was one back in October.

Well, there's a reason I have three of them (I'm lazy), but only one of them have a real mount. And ironically that's in a vehicle I drive very seldom.
Come to think of it...the two I drive most often have to share one detector. Yep, I'm backwards, as usual.

Anyway, out here it's common not to see another car for several miles, so when there is a signal, I pay attention. Unless it's laser.

I watch a YouTube channel called Vortex Radar a little dry but very informative. Anyway he tests them back to back extensive and the 360c comes out on top for performance and better user interface. I have the 360c and it’s very good.

I say Redline 360c with Waze if you have an iPhone. Valentine One G2 with JBV1 if you have an Android (V1 Driver sucks.)

Somewhere, at some point, I saw that supposedly the warranty isn't good if not buying directly.
Either way, as I recall the price at Valentine was about as good as anywhere else.

IMO the Redline 360 is too sensitive. I prefer my MAX 360C.

They have been on backorder pretty much since they came out, so they typically sell for more than the factory direct price on other sites. Like @Two said, just order from V1 and expect to wait a bit.

If you have a Gen 1 they give you some money back in trade. I unloaded one of my old ones to them. Still using the other.

Because if you have an Android, it’s best to go with the Valentine One G2 since JBV1 blows Waze out of the water.

After buying a Gen 2, I quickly sent the two old ones in and got the new versions.
The improvements were well worth it, I thought.

Probably will trade the other eventually. Kinda stinks because I sent it in for upgrade a couple years ago (before the Gen 2 came out). I dunno, I feel like I should get some more of my money out of it first. And it still works really well.

You adjust the settings? I don’t have that issue after I adjusted the factory settings

I have the 360c debating on the 360 redline upgrade. I made a pigtail so I can mount it to my motorcycles, it’s been wind tested to 162. On a track of course I use it in my truck and my TA also. Gonna add a USB so I can charge my phone also.

Valentine is no longer offering the V1 upgrade due part shortages. I have two of the V1s, so was very interesting in the upgrade. At full price not so much. I have a installed Escort in my Tesla which has been outstanding and beat the original V1 in just about every way. I've just placed an order for the redline 360c. At least this will get me by on the drive home from the dealership until I'm ready for an installed detector again.

Have the V1G2 and am very happy with it. I guess the main weakness is it’s reliance on mobile apps for some features, but I’ve gotten used to that. V1 Driver app is fantastic.

For mounting, I ran a Blendmount for a bit but actually prefer the plain old suction cup mount on the upper windshield. And a mirror tap for power. Less is more I guess.

how did you get the cover out to access the wiring and which wires did you connect into? I have the blendmount and the wires to tap into the mirror wiring just haven't had a chance to dabble with the install. any tips/photos?

The middle plastic piece is kind of a pain. Have a pointy sharp trim removal tool that got that off without any marks or damage. The rest is really easy. I had a Blendmount for awhile but it just didn’t look great to me. Kinda hangs too low.
