Power For Dashcam?

Where did you install the battery ? Glovebox ?
Yes, the battery is laying in the lower glove box. I ran the cables underneath the center shifter console from the driver's side to the passenger side and then up under the radio area into the glove box. I ran the dash cam wires underneath the headliner to the A-pillar and down into the glove box. All the wires are hidden.

Thanks , put mine in today. Glovebox worked good for battery

I like it. The only thing I wish it did was offer live feed from an app or cloud storage. Unfortunately, i would need to go with one of their other cameras to gain those features or even just a different brand. I’ve had no issues with my N4 and I have it set up pretty clean. I didnt go with the OBD hardwire connection for two reasons. (1) I don't Remember if that was an option at the time of purchase of my N4 and (2) I would rather not utilize so access could still be had if servicing is needed. The fuse option I felt was more ideal for how I wanted my setup to be. No unplugging needed unless it’s just that one fuse With problems. Just my opinion but when comparing the two sources of power, I’d assume that the OBD port would require more access than the fuse area.
At the end of the day, all comes down to personal preference really.
If you don’t mind me asking - which fuse did you tie into with the hardwire kit?

Installed the Vantrue N4 Pro 3-ch today. Used 54A for constant power (red wire, 20amp fuse) and 66 for the switched power (yellow wire, 10Amp fuse). App’s been a little glitchy so far as I’m getting used to it. So far haven’t been able to be on CarPlay and connected to the dashcam at the same time. I’m sure I just need to get used to the user interface.

Outstanding - Which app are you using for the N4?

This one:
Thanks and will give it a try. I thought I saw somewhere that the N4 did not work with the app - probably why I never downloaded it.

Any trials and tribulations to share if you had issues getting it to work?

Be safe !

Yea right now it can be challenging to connect the app to the camera, which is where you can view the videos and change settings a lot easier then on the actual camera. Issues so far:

1 - cannot connect to camera via the APP wifi while the camera is recording. This is annoying if you have parking mode on that is automatically triggering recording while I sit in my truck with the ignition on ACC trying to look at videos.
2 - cannot have app connected while connected to CarPlay. Have to turn off Bluetooth which for whatever reason interferes with the apps connection.
3 - mounting the camera was a lesser of two evils. I chose the below spot because my radar blocks the interior cab if I try to mount centered on the windshield.

Still working on tweaking little settings. Keeping my fingers crossed the Vantrue hardwire kit does its job and cuts power based on my truck batteries levels.

Thanks much!! I’ll share if I discover anything additional on my side.

Regarding the hardwire kit , I’ve had no issues with my battery levels and seems to do its job, and Park mode is enabled 👍🏻

Installed the Viofo 129 pro duo tonight without issue. Tapped into F33 (constant, red wire) and F66 (switched, yellow wire) to have full 24/7 mode. Pretty happy with the video quality.
Shout out to @JPV96 for sending me this thread as I was in need of some how-to....:)

The A229 Plus is on sale right now, so I picked one up plus the HK4 Wire kit. :)

Many thanks for your post as this is exactly what I needed to know!

I ended up running my RED 12v BATT to the F54a since it was already set up for constant power.
I then ran my YELLOW ACC to F66 (10a) and everything powered on as expected. :)
Hopefully the F54a is a good tap, if something changes, I'll change it to the F33 as per your suggestion!

Thanks again for the post!
