Parking at a hotel/airport

I live and work in Radcliff. Wheels, tires, suspension, accessories, full security, remote start ect. I try to stay out of the ville if I have to. Only go for benefit car shows, kygunco, alpha guns, va appointments and driving through that whole mess 😂
Haha I hear that completely. We gotta get all of us KY rexes together for a drive sometime

There are a few around, I have done some security setups on a few in the country club area as well as around my area. Buddy in our mopar savages car club has one around 1000hp and is getting ready to throw another smaller pulley on. He is in the grenade your ihi zone already 😂

I'd like to give a big thank you to the OP Clifford. He set up the Vegas Ravelco installer to travel up here and install on his, mine, and my business partners truck. Saving us all at least $100 on fuel and probably $1000 myself in gambling debt. Thank you sir.

Great turnout for security. Good for you guys. I love my Ravelco(s)

What if the nearest major airport isn’t really convenient for an Uber?
That’s their problem imo. The drivers want to get paid they’ll take you. Otherwise Get a car service. I’m about 1hr between two airports. 60+ miles. Car service works out cheaper and is on time without bullshit.

Since Lyft and Uber rates are variable it actually saves a bit of cash, overall anyway, plus supporting a local business.

I’m curious as to what minimum level security you would need to feel comfortable parking your truck outside at a hotel or airport. Those are the two spots people here seem most afraid of. And more specifically, closer geographically to the border or ports.

If you have IGLA/Ravelco + Compustar, do you still worry about being towed?

The feeling of not being able to drive this truck anywhere isn’t very fun.
Lots of airport runs and will never take the TRX, even with an IGLA/Drone installed. My older, but sharp 2011 Ram 1500 Laramie must be harder to steal because I've had no problems with it at the gated and monitored off airport parking lots with shuttles. Uber sometimes as well if longer trips required.

TRX's at the airport are like raw meat in front of a starving dog. Still get the IGLA or Ravelco in case you need to stop at a hotel or go see a movie with the TRX. Shared in another thread how my buddy's nice later model lifted Chevy was stolen from right in front of the Dallas Hilton a few weeks back. No broken glass, no camera footage, and he had no IGLA or additional security features. Police mentioned they get under the hood of those and are gone in 60 seconds.

Sorry, my question was confusing. I meant more for myself. Spending time with strangers on a car ride isn’t high on my enjoyment list lol
My other vehicle is equally high on the “don’t be an idiot and park at the airport” list. Albeit, it’s older, more miles, and definitely more discrete. I’ve never had a problem parked at the airport or hotels even with a Hellcat and want to feel free to take my truck anywhere I want. But it definitely seems like people on this forum still don’t feel that comfortable even with multiple security measures (like yourself). That sucks to have that feeling.
Well I travel a lot for work, so I wouldn’t drive my car anyway. I enjoy the car service, good folks, usually solve the worlds problems for the hour. As to cars, I have a few, including a hellcat challenger, none of them will be sitting at the airport for a week so other people can case them even with multi security layers. Used to be LE, so I know better. Visible Security only prevents honest people from having a go at it, the rest (not visible) is to prevent actual theft and to foil crime. These are rare, expensive cars and prized assets for us.

It’s not about not being able to take it where you want, That said, ask yourself, does the minor inconvenience Of sitting in someone else’s car for some period of time, worth coming back to the potentially medium risk of having your window smashed and dash pulled apart, but truck still there. Course there’s a chance nothing will happen. Life is about acceptable risk, and maintaining situational awareness, at least that’s how I live it, with prior experience of many years it’s an unfortunate part of looking around in todays shit/weak world we live in, and I’m in the country with like minded folks.

Yeah, have Ravelco as of today. I guess my thought process is if I’m still scared to park it anywhere with Ravelco, why did I even pay for that? It’s interesting to read replies like yours who still wouldn’t park at an airport or hotel with protection.
You paid for it so it stays where you put it. Doesn’t mean someone’s not going to try. Ravelco is great. I have it in each car I have, for sometime now, and paired with an alarm (compustar t13 in my case) the potential target is now well hardened.

That’s the key. The rest is up to you.

If you have an IGLA and compustar alarm there isn’t a need to worry that much. Disabling the neutral pull and having your parking brakes set to turn on when you park is about as secure as you can get without an armed guard. Not only will you get alerted on you cellphone, smart watch and remote but everyone around them will be too. Can also make it even better with interior piezo “pain generator” that will make them deaf.
Should I disable neutral pull even if I have IGLA and compustar? And by disable to use something like this? **NEW**2014-2023 Ram 1500 "Laser cut" (TDS) Neutral Strap Cover Plate

Well said. I feel the same way. I park at the airport every week for 3-4 days at a time. I'm just going to buy an airport car.

Good job with the Ravelco. For clarification, I would indeed put it out in front of a hotel with the IGLA. Risk of busted window that would be found in a few hours at worst unless towed. At an airport, you could have a busted window for days or a week+... I just don't care to clean bird crap off the dash. ;)

Having the IGLA allows me to drive it out and about and go into a store or restaurant for something that takes 30 mins to an hour without stressing out too much about it disappearing.

IMHO, going commando without the IGLA or Ravelco in a big city, it's like you're playing roulette every time. Too many videos of Thugs grabbing these MOPARs in less than 30-60 seconds. This is, in fact, the perfect bait truck though. Would love to see a city PD sponsor one, or repurpose a drug confiscation TRX.

Southern part.
Love Montana. Spent a week in Glacier last summer and can’t wait to go back.
You should go to Glacier in September with prime fall colors… it is amazing :)

Montana is a very unique state as we don’t have to deal with crime the way that many of you have to. I could leave my truck in my driveway unlocked with the keys in the cup holder and don’t have to worry about it. Lol nevertheless I still park it in my climate controlled garage every night! With that said, I do commute to big cities on the West and East coast. So I am planning on adding IGLA and Compustar just to be safe since the Hellcat is being discontinued and it’s going to be very hard to replace.

With that said, I still never leave my vehicle at the airport. Pay a friend to drop you off or take an Uber. Yes, I get it is inconvenient. But I don’t want a knucklehead parking next to me and damaging my paint nor casing my vehicle. When I fly somewhere, I am normally gone for days/weeks at a time. My airport in Montana is probably one of the safest in the country given how many people fly in/out of it, but I am still not taking a chance.
