Pano Sunroof Option

If it wasn't for the cost they'd be standard equipment.

It's surprising it's not standard on level 2. on Ford in the top rim levels it is.

I used the Pano in my 2020 Raptor less than ten times while I owned it, and it was already starting to rattle. Because of that I specifically ordered my TRX without one.
It was definitely a Ford issue. None of my rams (3 of them now) had a rattling issue. My Raptor drove me nuts. One of the reasons I got rid of it.

Well that was a Ford, neither of my Jeep's Panos had any issues nor does my father in law's 1500 Limited.

Both you and @HeliPilot could be correct. After seeing multiple issues on the Raptor forum, having mine start to act up, and the fact I almost never used it was enough for me to pass on one. I had a regular sunroof in my 2012 Power Wagon and rarely used it. For me it’s just not an option I wanted to pay for.

I had a new 21 year model paid for that had everything I wanted but didn’t have the sunroof so I ordered a new one (22) only difference was the color and this one had a sunroof. So far I haven’t regretted a single minute of it and would do it all over again if needed to. I don’t open it that much but love being able to look up and see the stars at nite or the clouds and sun during the day.

I love mine and am glad I have it. I do not drive with it open, however, love the light that comes through. When my car is sitting during the day when I am not driving the truck, I keep the shade closed to keep things cooler and that will also prevent fading of the interior. I do not drive mine everyday, so sometimes it sits a bit.

Based upon the replies here there appears to be minimal issues with the pano sunroof. I guess it's down to the cost and whether you believe it adds something special to the truck.

Exactly. and I'm not going to spend this much money on a toy then cheap out on a very popular option.

Get it and get it tinted! It helps with the really hot days when you just want to let some light in or vent. I use mine almost daily and have zero regrets.
Keep in mind, you CANNOT vent it and keep the shade closed which a lot of people like to do. That's the main reason I had mine tinted. When you go to vent it the shade will open the full first section.

It is something that your either love or hate. I have sunroofs "unfortunately" on our vehicles because they were part of an options package. I ordered TRX w/o it. I hate them. I tried to order piecemeal on my F150, but it was going to cost me $700 more w/o vs. going with the options package that included it. I never use it...except going through carwashes to see if it leaked :)

I have submitted a build for a 2023 TRX. The only option I am back and forth on is the panoramic sunroof. I probably will not use it much here in 100+ temps in Texas but it does add some light to the interior. Looking at the total number of 2022 builds about 3 out of 4 have this option. No one has posted their experience with the sunroof or any problems such as leaks, motor failure or wind noise. If anyone is having problems within the first few years I may steer away from it as I typically keep my vehicles for a long time. I would appreciate any feedback from the forum members. Thanks
The only issue I heard about was wind noise. I currently have one in my Dodge Charger Scat Pack and have had no issues, but since I live in South Texas, I seldom use it. I didn't order one for my 2023 Ram TRX and I'm good without it.

Love mine and am always using it, even when it's hot outside. I'll at least open the inside cover to let the light in if it really hot.

I had both pieces of it tinted so not to much glare when it's open.

I echo this ^

Be sure to take it to a tint shop that knows their stuff.

I never get sunroofs because I keep my vehicles for a long time and usually they will start leaking or stop working. Plus like you I'm in hot area (Arizona) so less heat in the vehicle.

Unfortunately, you can't tint the pano roof, they shatter when trying. I thought it was weird too, but more than one shop has told me this. I was looking to do the XPEL like I have on my other windows.

Why/how would it shatter? You mean from a bad installer not doing it correctly? I just had mine done today (along with the rest of the truck) with 50% ceramic to cut down the heat transmission. My tinter is a good friend of mine and said he’s done hundreds of pano roofs with 30-50-70% ceramic with no issues.

I tinted mine over a year and a half ago with no problems (30% ceramic). Tint shop never said anything about it shattering.

I ride with it open all the time. Even with it being over the 100s most of the summer it had no problems.

Could I have their contact? I want to pick their brain so I can call BS on my installer. Thanks!

. . .had the sunroof on my Gen 1 Raptor - loved it, but was afraid it would crap-out and be an expensive fix. My TRX does not have one, as much as I loved it on my Raptor, still very afraid of all the issues it could bring - which outweighed having one.

As long as you wipe it down with blinker fluid weekly, it has no problems.

False, this is FAKE NEWS. 🍻
