My truck started throwing a P0308 code — cylinder 8 misfire — but initially it would only happen on remote starts. I took it to the dealership, and they told me it was a software issue and performed a refresh/update.
About two weeks later, the code came back and started happening more consistently, so I took it back in.
This time they confirmed there is a misfire at idle, but they aren’t seeing it while driving. So far they’ve checked the plugs, coils, wiring, injectors, and all the basic stuff, and everything is testing good.
Now Ram engineers are involved and I’m basically in limbo waiting to hear what they find.
Has anyone had something similar happen? Any insight into what could cause a cylinder-specific misfire that mainly shows up at idle?
2022 TRX — 56k miles — completely stock.
TIA.
