Options Question

Someone pointed out in another thread that the ring from the factory is a beauty ring. The functional bead lock ring has to be purchased.
Correct, you can purchase it from Dealership separately. I have a turbo razor side by side and run 32 inch tires on method bead lock wheels. The Bead lock wheels allow you to really air down the tires for better grip off road.

I don't think you can just purchase the ring with any wheels, You can but only if you have ordered the "Bid lock capable" wheel option, which I don't think all of the wheel offered by Ram on the TRX are.

The black basic wheels are not bead lock capable, that’s why the bead lock capable ones are a $1895 upgrade. Not sure what the actual rings will be throu the parts dept. My guess would be $100 or less for set of 4.

Thanks for the info. I ordered a Launch edition so I think those optional wheels are standard, but I don't think I would spend any money on bid locks as I'm not a rock crawler, I'm more of a high speed rally off roader :)

Correct, you will be able to purchase a set of true bead lock rings from the parts department. A true bead lock has 3-4 times the amount of bolts you see on the faux ring that it comes with.

I watched a video that had the red speakers and it had the red accent package. I think it would be safe to say that they would be black w/o the accent package.

At least from the below the door speakers might only come with the 19 Speaker Harman Kardon package. And would think they would only be red with the red interior package. Interesting the “TRX” logo on the carbon fiber dash is different:

Certainly a difference, I am glad I ordered the LE as it comes with the carbon fiber and the leather with red accents the TRX inset in the carbon fiber certainly pops in that setup. LOVE IT!

Mine is set up like that too; leather, Red Interior accents, Carbon Fiber & 19 Speaker Harman Kardon but had to have the metallic Black pearl paint. I always get carbon fiber interiors when they are available & have a sports car that has red & black leather interior w/ red stitching, love that combo. Have a car w/ alcantara too, great stuff, the TRX has quite a bit, the steering wheel, doors, center console. Really looking forward to this truck!

Mirrors follow up... Are the mirrors “heated” for winter weather defrosting ? Anyone seen anything ?

If you visit Ram's website and build out your TRX the way you want, at the end of the page when you get to the 'summary' section there's a link to view 'standard features'. Under Exterior Features you'll find the mirror descriptions. It says "Power-Heated Mirrors with Power Fold-Away".

Does anyone know why the dealers add trailer tow group to the build when level 2 says it includes brake controller?
Also is the trailer camera wiring included in the trailer reverse package?

I think you get the ability to add tire pressure sensors to the trailer and it can check your trailer tail lights? I'm not sure about the wiring..

Yeah the trailer tow group come with the trailer brakes and trailer light check. I was going to get it but I don't need the ability to control trailer brakes when I'm not going to tow heavy anyway

One option I cannot confirm is whether the standard side mirrors are powered or not? Would rather not have to option the $445 Trailer Tow mirrors. Anyone know? i would think they are powered! My lesser 1500 Sport has powered mirrors!
The original question I think has been answered that the standard mirrors are power folding, I did however want to offer a word of caution if you select the advanced safety group that comes with the 360 view camera and the towing mirror option the tow mirrors delete the 360 view camera. When I found that out it was enough to make me go with the standard mirrors as this isn't a tow rig and I could see myself using the 360 view for tight parking spots more than needing extended tow mirrors towing a super long trailer that weighs less than 9k lbs

That was the case w/ previous MY’s.

“2021 Ram trucks with surround view camera doesn't change when tow mirrors are added.”

The trailer brake controller is already included in the Level 2 equipment group but it's also a part of the Trailer Tow Group $395. Are we paying for it twice if we get both options?

The trailer brake controller was a stand alone option for $195 if you didn't get the Level 2 group. But recently, they changed the name of the option to Trailer Tow Group and increased the price to $395.

Did anyone notice that you cannot have the Ram Bar and the tonneau cover -- when you select both, one is deleted. I like the Ram Bar but am hoping that there is a tonneau cover solution after market!
I just joined and know you posted this in August but did you find any options for a tonneau that will work with the rambar?

Read this thread...

The Retrax Pro XR looks like it will fit with the Rambar, won’t know for sure until I get my TRX which is supposed to be delivered in February. About 95% positive it will work.

Also referenced in the thread above a video of TFL as they installed a different tonneau cover on their ram rebel with the Rambar installed. So there are definitely tonneau covers that will work with the Rambar. Definitely going to be limited options but should have some thing that will work.

Good luck!
