Thanks for sharing. Whatever change Ram made must have been for 2022 and up. What a pain.
So jl knows about the issue and is modifying their amps going forward to fix it and providing customers with a new amp if having the issue.

Hello, our engineers have found that the current generation Dodge and GM vehicles have changed the carrier frequency of the TPMS on newer vehicles. It was found that one of the circuits in VXi was operating close to this carrier frequency and could cause issues. We have already adopted a solution for all amplifiers that are in house to be shipped out. If you had the system installed by an authorized dealer the dealer can submit for an RA and have modified amplifiers advanced shipped to them so that you can schedule a swap out. If you purchased them and installed them yourself I can transfer this ticket to customer service and they can assist you with a return in exchange for modified amplifiers that will not have this issue. Which model VXi do you have? Were they purchased through and authorized dealer?

Mine were replaced last Tuesday and TPMS and key fob issues are fixedWell it took about 2 weeks but JL sent me a new amp. The TPMS still malfunctions after a few minutes of driving which is an improvement but not a solution. Waiting to see what else they have to say.
They sent another amp and issues are resolved finally.Mine were replaced last Tuesday and TPMS and key fob issues are fixed
This is very helpful; thank you. Has anyone confirmed which channels (between 5, 6, and 7) are for the left and right tweeters on the HK setup? I can certainly test it out, but if someone already knows the answer it saves me some steps when I'm in the thick of the install. The Alpine has a triple voice coil sub and it doesn’t have upper door tweeters.
The HK only has a single voice coil sub, so the two sets of wires in the CH03 harness that would be for the sub’s extra voice coils on Alpine are used for the upper door speakers instead with the HK system. Ultimately both systems have the same number of wires and channels, so the pigtail harness works with either.
The harness comes with this sheet so you can record all the speaker wire colors on before you wire everything up.View attachment 51505
I believe everything will be the same on the HK, save for two of the subwoofer channels being used for the left and right upper door speakers instead. Either way, you can buy an inexpensive tone generator from PAC to confirm the locations and colors before proceeding.
Seeing the full sheet of paper in this pic would be super helpful if you still have itHope this helps people in the future. In the simplest terms:
The PAC AP4-CH41 module mounts behind the dash and intercepts the pre-amp signal to send to your new amp. It includes the correct harness for 2021 trucks. For 2022+, you need to buy the APH-CH42 separately to connect the CH41 module.
From that PAC CH41 module, you only run either your optical or RCA cables back to your new amp, and your turn on wire. No speaker connections are made up there with a factory amplified system.
To actually connect the new amp to the speakers, the APH-CH03 harness is used under the drivers seat. This works in any model year and any system (Alpine or HK).
The APH-CH03 comes with a sheet of paper where you can log what / where each speaker is by wire color on the PAC harness. This will vary based on the system (and possibly even just harness to harness with the way things are built) so it’s best to check for yourself.
To do so, I unplugged the amp, plugged in the CH03 harnesses, and used a tone generator on the speaker wires to locate and label the speakers.View attachment 84315
Once this is done, everything gets a hell of a lot clearer. Speakers you want to remain factory amplified are simply connected to the other side of the CH03 harness (so they just pass from the factory amp through the CH03, and out to the speakers).
Speakers you’re going to amplify aftermarket are NOT connected to the factory amp side, and you can simply extend and run your new wiring from the CH03 up to the new amp.View attachment 84316

I had a PDF with all my stereo stuff. I’ll DM you when I find it.This is very helpful; thank you. Thanks for the kind words. It’s just a hobby for me. I’d never have the time to do installs on the side. Even this one was done over the course of several weeks whenever I had a few spare hours. Good shops are scarce around here so I just trained myself years ago. Honestly 99% of it is really straightforward. The tuning is the only thing where it’s more art than science.dude.... what an incredible build. You know your stuff.
Do you do this on the side? I'm in MN....
would really interested in building something like this for my truck (obviously pay you whatever you need)
it's very very hard to find good audio shops and installers.

well for a hobby you're pretty damn good at this. Man i wish i had a shop i trust. I've had a couple shitty experiences... spent too much money on systems that were horribly tuned and not hooked up properly.I had a PDF with all my stereo stuff. I’ll DM you when I find it.

Yep, those will give your sub a clean pre-amp signal. From there you just run RCAs or TOSLINK (and power) back to the sub amp. Pretty straightforward deal and definitely fills in the bottom end where the HK falls apart and gets boomy at higher volumes. What are your thoughts on just running the stock HK system with the stealthbox, 1000 jl amp? how does she sound?
What other parts do i need? Both of these?

perfect.. you go toslink right? and i think you get the 1000 amp. why notYep, those will give your sub a clean pre-amp signal. From there you just run RCAs or TOSLINK (and power) back to the sub amp. Yes I am using the VX1000/1 connected via toslink. If you do that you’d also need to install this into the PAC module which is no big deal:perfect.. you go toslink right? and i think you get the 1000 amp. why not
i've owned about 6 stealthbox setups... they're great.
first one was in a 2001 bmw x5..... they've come along way.

Dang that setup has all the good stuff. Very nice. My experience with tuning is pretty limited but I know what sounds good. Or at least what sounds good to me.good man. thanks for the solid advice.
done a couple serious builds but it's been years - spend soooo much money on this stuff.

i couldn't agree more... so trueTuning is definitely where a good stereo guy earns his keep though.
