Mudflap options?

What are you drinking? Happy Hour must've started early!
Doing too many things and not proof reading -- my bad. Simple explanation----they worked for a while but off road used bends them backward so it lets rocks and gravel through to sand blast my fenders! Putting the bigger ones on the front. If these screw up then will try another vendor.

Gatorbacks are thick, sturdy and expensive. Pleased with mine so far .
I just reviewed the website and watched the instruction video! Hell yes these are expensive BUT I would not have ruined my paint and some PPF if I had these installed from the start! Screw the Rock Blokz they are a inferior product for serious off road work! When I get to the ranch I will just remove the bottom portion of the flaps to keep them from being bent up repeatedly which is why the Rock Blokz lost their form (front) and are now allowing debris to pass under and blast the rear trim and paint.

Going to cancel the follow on order I placed yesterday for the RB XL's which work well if you do not do serious off road travel where they are repeatedly impacted from the bottom causing them take a permanent bend set! Big advantage to the RB is they are cheap but for most they will work.

These aren’t custom but I think they work really well.

Have “Rally Armor” on my Hyper-Subi and seem to be very good quality. Came with all hardware and they look great…

Gatorback and bwoody has them. The gators are much pricier but sharptrucks offers forum discount
What is the “sharptrucks” discount code For forum members? Could not find it in “vendor section” or in search. Thx.

The Rokblokz are fine as long as you don’t live on the gates of hell like @BusaDave or do some serious constant off roading. I’ve done mild off roading a few times with my truck with some decent change in terrain / with plenty of suspension travel and the Rokblokz are still fine. They never got folded back like @BusaDave described on his drives. His terrain obviously requires a more robust flap like the gators.

Sorry. I don’t remember. Been a few months since I bought. Just call/email and ask about forum discount

The Gators allow for an easy partial removal of the bottom part of the flap. Then when you are going back on any kind of flat road gravel or whatever you can just slide it back in place. For light off roading you do the RB is a good solution I thought so as well but made a mistake. It happens sometimes thinking a product is going to be able to do something it cannot.

I have rokblokz for my yet to arrive truck. Interested in seeing what the weather tech ones look like.

Off road is not the problem. It is the caliche I go down that are damaging the front edges of the fender flares and getting the paint. Now from just a few times down that 10 mile road has ruined the PPF I had put on a few weeks ago. Glad it was there! Just finished putting the Gator's on. Did take a little trimming on the front ones because the are so long after the last mounting hole inboard the inner fender has a hump there that made it stick forward about a half inch. Turned the wheel completely and it was a little close for comfort (especially in ice and mud when it builds up) so trimmed off not the flap but the inside mounting piece about 3/4 of an inch from the last mounting screw with a Dremel.

Now just have to put on more PPF because what is on there is covered in white spots where it got dinged up. Out of all of the trucks I have owned this one has been the biggest challenge on protecting. Usually put on wider fender flares and that works but do not think that is an option with the TRX yet.

Could you take pictures with the gator’s on. Interested in how they look compared to the rokblokz

Dave how are the Gators working out?
So far good. Gone through some water on the street and nothing on the sides. Making an appt to get new PPF put on the front of the rear fenders as the problem has been fixed I do believe. Nice thing about these is when I am on site can just remove the bottom flaps put them in the rear floorboard or in the tool box and then put them back on when I get back on the road that tears up the paint. These things are a lot bigger and I am not a fan of what it does to the lines of the truck but so be it if it keeps my paint on and rear fender flares from getting chewed up.

Go to meet Nixon just now. Gave him my old RB flaps. We had a nice chat hope his truck gets built soon! While he is waiting it will give him plenty of time to get the white caliche off of them! ;)
