Lost it on snow pulling 2 place snowmobile trailer

Glad you are all okay!

I was on that same road Saturday driving from Breckenridge to Hayden.

Yea. I agree. That big rig was flying for conditions.

I understand that truckers want to out mileage in, but he should have been doing a lot slower, probably at least a third slower considering oncoming was at equal speed.

What mode were you in? Also were you in auto or 4WD? I love my new truck but my Chevy was better in the snow. Granted it had studded winter tires. I’ve studded the stock tires and it does ok so far, headed to Valdez Monday we will see how the TRX does. 😂 I drove from Fairbanks to Anchorage during a winter storm after I took delivery on the truck. TRX did ok with no studs in snow but not confidence inspiring. Glad you are ok.

Truck isn't the problem, tires are. Having grown up and learning how to drive in the 'snow belt' I can tell you the tires and caution of the drivers (or lack thereof) are almost always the culprit.

@2ride did nothing wrong here, but damn that semi should have slowed the fuck down.

Lol I was born and live in AK. Tell me more about winter driving.😉I was curious about his mode because of the suspension settings and to see if he likes 4 or auto. These stock tires are fine for any winter scenario if you stud them. 039185BE-32D3-4FDF-B31F-C9CA13A46919.webp

Glad you and all the passengers are okay! That is the most important thing!
That said, it was not you or the truck.....it was the TIRES! The stock Goodyear tires are 100% CRAP on packed snow / ice, especially packed snow with new snow on top. Each of the large tread lugs only has 2 sipes. The lugs act like HUGE sleds on the snow. 2 weeks ago I took my TRX on a business trip over Berthoud Pass, driving to Winter Park. The road on top was packed snow, with snow still falling. I have never experienced such a slipping - sliding mess in a 4x4 truck (40 years experience driving in blizzards). Honestly, a front drive Yugo with bald tires would have been better!

The best tires I have used on packed snow: Michelin LTX (not made in TRX size)
Second best: Hankook Dynapro ATM

I am still deciding between Nitto Terra Grapplers and Hankooks for my TRX.......

Good on ya....stayed loose....and only concerned that everyone was ok.....just a truck...

You obviously have never had Blizzacks then. 😜

I have run Michelin X Ice tires on the wife's Lexus.
You are correct, those purpose built snow / ice tires are AMAZING! Even in subzero temps they are still soft like butter! Now if they would make them in a 325-60-20 !!!!
