Launch of 392 Jeep

So far as I can tell this is a product for C&C/IG cred and for the pure silliness of having that much power in a Wrangler. Not judging it, god knows I've bought things for stupider reasons, just noting that all that hp doesn't do much in the off roading environment the wrangler is designed for where torque is much more paramount ... if I were in the market for a Wrangler and was serious about using it to off road, I'd prefer to have the 4xe with all that torque, plenty of hp, and save myself some moneys. And no, I'm not a communist.

There is no way this jeep will have an MSRP of 99k! If it does count on me canceling my order. Think about it, a loaded TRX is 92k, and it is twice the vehicle that a 392 Rubicon ever will be. Could be wrong, but logic says I am not.

Supposedly I have one reserved at MSRP, trailer package, and not much else, dealer was guestimating about 10k over the price of a similarly equipped diesel model. Time will tell I guess.

I've been going back and forth between the TRX and the 392. Cannot go wrong with either choice.

I obviously don't understand the attraction to the 392. I'm assuming more of a cult following like the older ones. The TRX is going to be a head turner and has no competitor currently. I can't believe I'm paying $100K+ for a truck but it should be a blast to drive and my buddies will be envious so that's worth something. It's just hard to wrap my brain around a six figure Jeep.

wait a minute... 100k for a dune buggy without a hellcat engine? Insane

Didn't Trackhawks get up to the 100k mark?

The 392 happened because Ford put a twin turbo V6 in the Bronco and claimed 400lbs-ft and 320hp or something.

Now that Jeep has a serious competitor, it had to do something.

I can see this starting at 60k and stretching into the 70s. It has to be competitive with the Bronco

That is a great point. I think the 392 was introduced specifically to tarnish the debut of Ford's Bronco. As such it would not make business sense to out price the 392 if it is designed competition for the up coming Bronco.

I received this information ($99k) from a dealership a few weeks ago. He also told me about how the dealer allocations work, but now that I think of it he may have said they are going $10k above MSRP on them, but I don’t recall if the $99k included their mark up.

I just checked the Jeep forums and thats crazy they picking options and gettings vins with no idea how much its going to cost. And then the one dude getting hit with a 20k ADM. Crazyness around the baby TRX that might cost more than the TRX

Wranglers have a massive aftermarket of parts. This is a vehicle I would buy used, equip it the way I want it with aftermarket parts, and use it for all the trails the TRX doesn’t fit.

Truth be told I would suspect 90% of the TRX and 392's will never see dirt. I can almost guarantee the two I have on order are going to be weekend toys, spending more time on road than off.. sad, but realistic.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Pricing Allegedly Leaked, Starts At $77,055

December 30th
Unveiled last month and set to go on sale in the United States early the next year, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is the most powerful Wrangler on sale – and we might have just has received word on its pricing.

The following screenshot came via a member of the JLWranglerForums, who claims that ‘27X’ is the code for the ‘392’ package, revealing the price of the Hemi V8-powered Wrangler: $77,055. If correct, that would make it almost $35,000 pricier than the regular Wrangler Rubicon. The base variant meanwhile has an MSRP of $28,315.

WOW. I looked at the forum post from the owner and says he only added 2 options. So about 3K less and it is around 74k for a base 392 Wrangler? WTF. A base TRX starts at 70k. a TRX with only TR2 cost 79k. This is getting crazy with these prices

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Price Leaks, Costs More Than TRX

As one would expect, the most powerful Wrangler is also the most expensive one.

The first factory-V8-powered Jeep Wrangler in about 40 years made its official debut in production form in November this year. Not going on sale until the first month of 2021, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 doesn’t have official pricing yet but we might have a very strong hint at what it’ll cost.
A member of the JLWranglerForums posted a screenshot detailing his Wrangler Rubicon 392 order. If the ‘27X’ in the code is bothering you, he claims this is the internal designation of the 392 model. And, to finally get to the point, his car costs $77,055.

Now, before we start comparing this figure with other prices, we need to address something first. In the forum thread, the member explains he ordered two optional packages for the off-roader - the duel-top and tow packages. We don’t know the prices of those two for this particular model, but if you order the Wrangler Unlimited High Altitude, they’ll set you back $1,200 and $795, respectively. This means $77k is not the entry-level price.

Still, at approximately $75,000, the base Wrangler Rubicon 392 will be more expensive than the Ram 1500 TRX, for example, which starts at $71,690. The standard Wrangler Rubicon, in turn, has a starting price tag of $42,390, which makes it almost $35,000 more affordable than the V8 version. The cheapest 2021 Wrangler money can buy costs $28,315.

As a reminder, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is powered by a 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) naturally aspirated Hemi V8 delivering 470 horsepower (350 kilowatts) and 470 pound-feet (637 Newton-meters) of torque. Jeep claims these numbers are enough for the off-roader to reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 4.5 seconds.
