Launch of 392 Jeep

this is only a problem for me if they decide to actually upgrade the axles and transfer case and give it some grunt..

a factory V8 wrangler was always at the top of my list, and ultimately, a supercharged V8 gladiator with D60s would take the cake... epitome of my desires.

if this TRX doesnt come soon, i would absolutley jump ship if they get it right.

I'm waiting for them to put a hellcat in it and then we can call it the baby TRX

Hold up... what if it has the trx Bilstein or similar live valve shocks , Mojave style Baja setup with d60s. I swear, I didn’t know I would ever build another unlimited wrangler. But it was always about overloading them with gear and being gutless. Now we can chop 1000s of #s from a powerwagon?? Let’s see. sub 5 second 0-60 without a blower would blow my mind.

Honestly, little underwhelming compared to how much went into re-engineering the TRX over the regular RAM 1500. This looked more like a 392 and a hood swap for the existing Rubicon. I'm sure there was more to it and maybe they will get into that in future releases. The Dana44's in my last Rubicon didn't survive the factory 6 cylinder offroad so I cant imagine them holding up to 470hp/470lbft.

I thought it was pretty cool but will come down to price. How much do you guys think this thing will cost?

It should be capable, but the wrangler is a bit tight for big fellas (I'm 6'4") and the lack of proper electric seats is a bummer. Now with better sitting and a Mojave suspension, this would be very nice!

With that much power that thing will be scary fun to drive I'm sure. This article talks about upgraded frame rails, beefier upper control arms, improved cast-iron steering knuckles, larger rotors, etc which I didn't catch any mention of in the launch at all, and their guess is a starting price in the low $50K range based on a current Rubicon starting price of $44K but you can easily option that out for an extra $15K today. Hopefully there will be more extensive videos to come detailing all the upgrades soon.

The smart thing with the Wrangler 392 is that they didn't reinvent the wheel with this. Keep it mostly the same, get it out quicker. Teased it this summer and come out Q1 next year is blazingly fast.

you wont find one in 2021 for less than $65-70k. at least in dense metro areas like SFL.

everything beefed up but lets talk about d44 gear and axle shaft sizes and how they will be twisted up pretzels.

fat 35/12.5 tires are going to chew the driveline apart and in 4 low will be rock jocking these axles into oblivion all day. Bad call because people who wanted this are the people who use their jeeps.

Sorry, but literally everything you just said is pure speculation. Why don't we wait until it comes out before jumping to conclusions? You have faith in the design and manufacturing of the TRX you ordered, but not in the Wrangler 392 which is made by the same company?

I'm thinking $65,000 -$75,000 for a fully loaded one. 0-60mph in 4.5 secs is pretty damn impressive. I wonder about the long term reliability as well. This would be one to buy the extended warranty on :D

your right in the fact that i have no idea on production numbers or sales price.
what i do know is that fully loaded Unlimited Rubicons on the lot go for about $60k.....
I also know South florida broz and they will have these on order for the whole year, and no deals will be cut. I think we can totally expect this to go sticker nationwide? and who will buy without the tech or leather...

We know the largest axle shaft size in the D44 and it does not compare to larger axles.
We know the Ring and Pinion anything at or over 4.10 is totally maxed out and weaker as you gear lower. throw 37s on and POP. Bet me.
We know the people that want these want to abuse them...im one.
I KNOW they used the smaller axles for shear weight savings on rotational mass....its the only way they are getting these acceleration numbers.
by by shafts, ujoints, driveshafts.....i just dont see the room/space for enough beefing up. (EDIT*when i reread this, i dont mean stock 392 wranglers. i mean as soon as you hop up to 35s and 37s.)
i hope im wrong.

My 16 Hellcat had supercharger issues
my 18 Powerwagon has had its transmission popped open and has a new valve body+++ happened on 35 inch tires.
my 16 JKUR had many problems with uconnect which i couldnt care less about, but what did suck was the 37s shearing the dif oil on road use as soon as you flushed it.(severe gear did not help)
my 12 JKU sahara was legit, but that was 35 duratracs and i was young....no excess armor or gear.

I expect the TRX to be riddled with issues....but now i get my warrantied supercharged supertruck with live valve shocks.
i believe they must have the Supercharger bearing supplier figured out, as well as the trans.

My salesman apparently has 2 allocations - Jeep Rubicon SRT 392 - don' t know pricing, but unspoken for. Just throwing it out there if there's any interest. Chris Chandler at Four Stars in Henrietta, TX 940-224-8985.

As someone who has actually snapped an axle before I learned how to drive off-road I will make the prediction of many many axle issues with this Jeep. And mine didn’t have 450hp. More like 200hp.
But it’s an easy fix.

I’ve heard $99k and each dealer is only getting 2-3 allocations. Not sure if that price includes mark-up’s.
