Jeep 392

I didnt realize the 392 jeep had a similar diff as the trx, so its fulltime awd. However, the youtube guy with white trx was mentioning, the 4xe transfer case has a 2wd setting, wonder if that could be used on our trx to provide a 2wd trx feature???

I daily my 392 wrangler and have had no issues with it. It is a 2022 XR with 22k miles on it. I had a v6 rubicon and the 392 handles better and has a more solid feel on the road compared especially when windy. Plenty fast for what it is and gets off the line well. I don’t drive my TRX all that much except on weekends but yeah nothing but good things to say on my end. You can pick up a nice used one for a pretty good deal too. They haven’t been holding value well compared to the TRX.

The TRX is the ultimate do everything vehicle. It excels at everything besides gas mileage. The 392 Wrangler is the dumbest vehicle that’s ever been created and I’ve never had a bigger shit eating grin or laughed like a little kid more than hammering the throttle on every acceleration. It’s one of those vehicles you laugh at its very existence and it’s just old school fun. It road trips like a Jeep, it’s loud, it bounces, but that sound and accelerating in a Jeep like that is special.

I have a TRX and a diesel Wrangler. My dad has a TRX and a 392 Jeep and I’ve done road trips in them all. The TRX is far superior on road trips, but the Jeep is really fun once you’re at your destination. Still need to get my hands on a Braptor, but I just hate the sounds of all the eco boost motors (the 3rd gen f150 raptor isn’t so bad). They’re just so flat sounding, but the Braptor looks like a blast to thrash.

I think If the Raptor was a flat 6 like the 911 or BMW's inline 6's I would thing they would sound and perform better....but those are not engines that Ford makes.

Thanks all for the info. Think I’ll stick to TRX tbh. I plan on doing longer overland trips and likely towing an off road trailer. 392 has extremely poor tc and sounds like comfort and interior quality wise can’t compare. I need one car that does it all 🦖

You can get the Tazer dt and that has an option for forced rear wheel drive mode.
