So just got off the phone with allstate and got some interesting info from them. Seems as if our truck in particular has about a 70% breakin/theft attempt. Lmao thats insane!! Anyones here that hasnt been broken into lmao..

can’t say it’s 70% but i has been posted here many times for months and many times on facebook for months and people blow it off as made up and blown out of proportion till it is their truck that is stolen.

*70% theft rate in the cesspool of Los Angeles, Commifornia sounds more reasonable.

I know California has earned its reputation regarding auto theft, but it seems to me the posts on this forum also anecdotally show a high non-California theft rate. It appears no matter where you live, the best security device is a garage. If you live in a situation where the truck sits outside, you may be asking for trouble.

I advertise with IGLA stickers on each side of the truck. One permanent on one side and on the other I just tuck in outside a window. and grab it when I return. Pro thieves know what IGLA is by now I am sure. I also have other anti theft deterrents layered/installed/added/loaded including the old Club for a visual effect to start out with when they look inside. Yeah- easily defeated but a PIA before they even try to get to starting it. Too much work.

Adding a club to an IGLA vehicle isn’t doing anything but making it so you need to buy a new steering wheel when they try to steal it 🤷‍♂️

Maybe, but a visible show of deterrence often makes lazy thieves/enemies move on or reconsider if it is worth the hassle or effort Thieves want the path of least resistance and fastest outcome. Between the shock sensor alarm and club, even if they can't read or spell IGLA on the window stickers, it's going to create second thoughts. Ill take my chances.

You have to remember Igla Man has the frame of reference that every potential car thief is a highly skilled and technologically trained expert in their craft, each having mastered all of the capabilities necessary to defeat within seconds every anti-theft device ever created other than Igla, and undaunted in any way by any other potential deterrent. There are literally zero thieves that would break into your truck without having a saw in hand to cut your steering wheel.

Having said that... while I don't agree that all thieves are prepared to defeat every non-Igla security device, these folks do frequently seem pretty sophisticated and well trained and I tend to agree that the Club might just make it so your steering wheel gets damaged before your other security devices stop them.

You are correct, I put security first and don’t skimp. I look at every thief being highly skilled because the moment you don’t, your vehicle is gone and you get to play the “I didn’t think it would happen to me, heres my gofund me link”. You prepare for the worst, all the time.

Some assholes tried stealing my truck again last night. 2nd time in a span of a month. This time the rear glass. I have stickers saying the car has anti theft/alarm device. Asswipe read the sticker with his cell phone flash light and still decided to try and steal it. Must have thought it was a bluff? Getting siccadis.

It sure seems like TRX thieves are very well prepared, not lazy, and are targeting these trucks specifically. A good number of them are part of sophisticated theft rings. Following owners around to learn where they live/ park or hiding trackers on them.

If a thief is just randomly looking for any car to steal, you are probably right.

Sorry to hear that, but at least they didn't get it. They tried taking mine twice within 4 - 6 weeks too. Don't know if it was the same scumbags, but it does seem like if they don't get it the first time, they will be back.

If any police dept wanted to guarantee a certain arrest quota, all they would have to do is plant a TRX as a decoy and just sit and wait.

Sorry to hear that man!! Sucks!! Do you have an audible alarm/ shock sensor alarm? Im putting compustar/drone as soon as i get my truck back. Hoping if they try again and bust a window the loud alarm will make them run off.

It will in some cases but depending on the surrounding and response they will continue.
