New York is probably one of the worst places in the country to be a landlord. I feel for you. I’m just getting started in Texas, focused on easy stuff. Three sided brick one-stories, good school district, and heavily screen tenants for solid work/rental history. More of a retirement thing than an income generator though. Barely, if any, profit margin from the rents. Might try a four-plex next.
