Help me decide 2024 TRX or 2024 GMC Hummer

Well said my man and we have a similar setup at 10months/2/6 haha

For some unknown reason - Leo (4) decided that shouting 'AMERICA!' is fitting for stoplight launches heading to preschool. Windows down/noise/G-force and hilarity and engagement that are priceless!

BTW... the DIONO car seats are a major win (narrower than the atypical Graco's/etc) for three across seating!

Similar situation over on the BMW forum a last year. Guy sold his F90 M5 and got a tesla plaid. After Approx a year of ownership he sold it and came back to an F90 M5. Now some of the build quality stuff isn't applicable, but i believe it shows a good ICE VS EV driving experience.

Although not as popular as it once was (here in Scottsdale)... clubs/membership with tiered memberships for monthly hours of use/etc. and choosing among a in-house fleet exotic/premium vehicles seemed to make sense. Is that Porsche or Lambo really enjoyable for atypical daily use and drives?

Perhaps TURO can fill this void and potential costs savings (if regret would have ensued). Would be interesting to 'live with' a Hummer EV for a week's duration and perspective? https://turo.com/blog/gearheads/the-new-hummer-ev-is-an-electric-workhorse

I was hyped about the Hummer when I heard about it. Loved my H2 (except for the power) back in the day. But that was before I learned of the TRX. Was at a Mercedes dealer today looking at cars for my wife and were talked into trying out their electrics. Nice cars, great tech, smooth, fast. Read up on the AMG versions and what I got was there's really no appreciable reason to pay for such an upgrade in performance with electric vehicles. Imo, if you're a real tech geek get the Hummer. If you really want to "feel" the performance of a vehicle, get the TRX.

EV’s will be commonplace before you know it (I threw up a bit typing that), high horsepower V8’s are unfortunately going away. You know full well that you’d miss the TRX when the novelty/new car feel if the Hummer wears off.

The only EV I’d consider in the future is the Ram Rev (God I hate that name). To me that truck would be a good daily driver just as the TRX is running out of warranty. This way I could keep the TRX for fun and longer road trips, and then have a truck as a daily that I don’t care about mileage.

My one concern buying an EV now, is with Tesla doing all these big price cuts....how will GM Ford, Etc. Respond....Just saw that the Model S Plaid is down to $89K from $101K 2 weeks ago, and from $122K I guess about 4 months ago...so I think with the EVs there is going to be some price wars...Lucid is trying to match. Will Rivian follow soon?

I am really thinking if the Plaid S drops to $79K before the year is out, I could use that as my daily commuter vehicle....

TRX will be gone.... EV will be flooding the market like crazy in the next few years.

FWIW.... two of my neighbors are cursing at Tesla that bought Model X's last December.

It’s crazy that the fastest 1/4 mile car in the world is under $100k.

I'm a car whore with 7 vehicles and I've been trying to mentally justify a Model S Plaid with the recent price cuts. Lot of daily driver for $90kish. 1,020hp, 0-60 in 2 flat, mid 9 quarter at almost 160mph, 400 mile range. Comfy, smooth, great stereo, good looks. No gas. Would be a blast for sure.

HERE WE GO: The best way to compare a Model S Plaid/Humm EV to a TRX at WOT is like sex with a tighter _____ than you're used to BUT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND & NO FACIAL EMOTION. Sure it feels great the 1st few times but no matter how hard you pound it, it's COMPLETE SILENCE. The TRX on the other hand is all drama like that hardcore, sweaty, coming down from the ceiling like Sting or getting a running start type of bang. Full of drama and excitement. Gets your blood pumping. NO COMPARISON.

All those ev guys are definitely thinking you meant to put MAN into the blank.

HAHAHAHAHA! To all the EV guys, the word intended starts with a "P" - i'm sure you guys can come up with some gay shit to put in the blank but hopefully most of us know what that word is lolol

I just choked on my lunch! FUNNY stuff right there.

I see both sides. I absolutely love engine sound, banging through the gears, etc. But, I also love the efficiency and quiet, but brutal speed of a nice EV. I think they both have their place.

It's fun driving my C6 ZR1, 5 Blackwing, and TRX and then hopping in my wife's '23 Model Y and just ripping around town without making a sound. Here's a funny video and, as you can see from this quick video, the Mustang dude was asking for it. To clarify, this is a plain Model Y Long Range, not even the performance model. :D :D

That is a funny video. On one hand you have a guy in a sweet car. In the other you have dude who has such poor taste he probably thinks he has a cool car and films good videos.

What are you talking about? The Tesla Model Y is an appliance, but it smoked a GT350 to 100mph with the GT350 asking for it. My wife filmed the video, but thanks for trying.

I am NOT giving up my TRX. Part of the reason, besides the drop in price, is my new client's parking garage's height is 6'5". I do not think even my Sequoia will fit there....but another reason is they offer "free" charging....might as well get it if drops while i waiting to see if/when the Zo6 will ever come in....

Was that filmed using an iPhone? It seems more iPhone users film in portrait when landscape would have captured more detail. Never mind me, just one of my pet peeves. 🙄

I agree 100%. It was a last second video when the dude was being froggy and revving on my wife's Model Y. My wife is normally great at videos, but didn't have any time to think before recording.
