General Grabber A/T X - Let’s Talk

I found myself in some unexpected snow in the woods today while out hunting. And by some I mean over a foot in places where it drifted. With nowhere to turn around, and 20 miles in the middle of nowhere, I had no choice but to keep pushing on. It was the most nervous I’ve been in the woods in years. The snow was a mixture of fresh, a little melted, and in places a combo of ice and mud. It was honestly pretty spooky a couple of times. What impressed me was how well these tires dug into the nastiest of the snow and pulled me out (some skinny peddle helped too). I would recommend these tires hands down to anybody that has to deal with snow and ice. They flat out did their job and got me back to camp safe!

So 20,000 miles and 20ish months later, here’s a tread depth reading from my $5.99 Amazon Special. From 17/32 to 13/32. I think that seems reasonable. That’s 20,000 miles of snow, ice, mud, rain, gravel roads, and pavement. Tires are a pinch louder than new, but still considerably quieter than the factory tires ever were.

Your comment made me go look again (the truck hasn’t moved since that picture). It sure looks like a staple in the picture, but it’s just a stem off of a leaf. Still pretty funny!
