Gen 1 values

Yeah gas prices and number of days used ones are sitting on lots are the main reasons I was told no more than $70k could be offered by dealerships and actually most of the online offers I got were $65-68k… $72k made sense when not having a truck payment for 3 or 4 months is factored in.

I dont buy so much on the gas thing at all.
We bought our TRXs in the middle of the pandemic with gas prices 50% higher than what they are now. TRXs were flying out of dealerships. Who buys these trucks dont give a shit about MPG because this truck probably has the worst MPG of anything with 4 wheels.
I think its a combination of factors such as shitty rates and also because the TRX isnt the only option it once was.
Back in '21 it was TRX or the shitty V6 of the Raptor. That was it.

Ram announced a shitload of trucks and I think people are thinking where they'll go.
I think FORD will bring some cool options for their Trucks too in 2027.

Back when rates were sub 2% sure gas isn’t a factor and lots of people were working from home vs now so gas isn’t as much as an issue. Your common regular guy wanting a TRX then vs now is not buying one today. We aren’t talking about us degenerates who don’t care, we are talking about the mass market that drove the market for these trucks. More are considering the RHO, hell I even did before I saw the TRX market drop, at lower interest rates cause they’re new, better economy and warranty. There are more options for sure. My point in replying is we often forget the people on this forum represent 1% of the actual market. What we value and don’t does not equate to values/market

couldn't agree more. i think what this sub doesn't realize is that for the person that was a fringe buyer (considering a TRX but probably shouldn't get 1) of a TRX, it's out of the question now with gas prices and interest rates, combined with the new TRXs coming to market, is ultimately what is driving the costs of used TRXs down. The person that can actually afford a TRX, is just buying a new 1. The person that was talking themselves into driving a TRX a year ago but definitely can't afford it, is now buying a used ZR2 or something similar for $45k.
