You are in good hands!!! I am interested in hearing how the K2 M's sounds, very nice build! Robbie
Let me know if you come up with something. The drone around 1500RPM is a nightmare. I went back to stock to regain ANC because it was intolerable in cold weather. Last resort, but at that point I had already blocked one vent completely with Soundskins Pro and MLV, and used acoustic Thinsulate as a “filter” over the other. Also had Soundskins Pro and MLV on the back wall, floor and bins. No real change except adding a ton of weight. The build: Focal UTOPIA M speakers, all 15 speakers!
Masconi Amps, all 6 of them
Active Digital Signal Processor for all channels
Retain all factory controls, warnings etc.
Sound treatment, everything that you can treat, more on that later
Number one goal on the build, sound quality, and 100% stock look!
Plug & Play, no cutting of the factory wiring harness. 100% reversible if needed.
The SoundsGoodStereo build is a cleaner system than my home system with McIntosh amps, B & W speakers. Driving this truck is scary, the road noise is nonexistent, the outside world disappears, you have to stay engage with the outside traffic conditions. The ONLY complain I have is the exhaust, the drone... The vents that you have talked about allows the drone to be heard, we are working on a solution, some kind of a filter in front of the vents. The drone is not road noise, the issue is solvable.
This system is in my TRX! I would like to thank you for all the info you have posted and shared with all of us on this website. I used your's, and other's information and pictures as a base to start from on this build. SoundsGoodStereo designed, fabricated, and built this "mind-blowing" stereo with your "input". SoundsGoodStereo can vouch than I referred to your build several times during the planning, and the build. I have intentionally not posted anything until SGS had the video of the build online, they have not yet, but they have post hints on what's to come.
My plans for the truck is, leave everything stock, no upgrades on the performance, as is, it is faster than my wife's 2008 Porsche Boxster RS60 Spyder at almost twice the weight. With that said, upgrade the comfort & aesthetic aspects of the truck. Wrap, lighting, power coating, small items, etc. We are using the TRX to drive cross country and see the sights, maybe tow an Airstream trailer. We need tunes for the 7000 to 8000 mile road trip! SoundsGoodStereo delivered and then some. The guys at SGS are first class from start. I flew up to their shop to interview them as I only had online information on their builds, from their youTube videos. They had me at hello! These are down to earth, honest people, what you see on their videos is who they are!!!

I will leave you with this, you do not hear speakers, you hear instruments and the voices, separation, staging, the presents, you are in the front row of a concert, a sound stage! The music is tighter in the TRX than it is on my home system! Robbie
Talked to Don today and Sage a couple weeks ago, I have the same elevated system being installed June 1. Slight difference in subs as I’m looking for slightly more bass output, it will be left to Sage to figure that out but am hopeful he can figure out how to get 4 DD1506 6” subs but space may not allow. Glad you replied to thread and can’t wait to get it completed. This system is in my TRX! I would like to thank you for all the info you have posted and shared with all of us on this website. I’m next!Mine is the one in now. Actually seeing yours made me pull the trigger. Was a little worried about those vents but I am sure it is solvable. Congrats on the build!
You will not be disappointed, top shelf equipment, great people. Sage, Don, Nathan, and Charlie are the best in the business. You are in good hands! Congratulations on the build!I’m next!
Yep. Dropped my Astell and Kern Kann Max off with the truckNice I have had mine back for a few weeks. You will definitely love it. Just have to go back and get my DAP coax finished up.
I spent pretty much that for my Rex’s stereo and I have had aftermarket systems my whole life. But I can say without any doubt that it was serious overkill. You can get a nice balanced system for much less. Dont get me wrong it was fun and sounded amazing but 20-30k is ridiculous and this coming from me LMFAOI consider myself blessed to own the vehicles I do but 30k for a stereo...I made some poor life choicesI bet that system sounds unbelievable. Congrats to those that have it.
Well I was hoping we might have this video posted by Christmas at least but it seems that’s isn’t going to happen either.
I think the bet now isn’t what year will this video be finally released…. The bet now is there even a video that can be released?
Any updates on this? Finally giving the TRX owners some love.... We have three of these builds scheduled along with a complete YouTube build video. Here is a sneak peak
