First time pickup truck owner

Appreciate the feedback!
I would hope the stock tires can handle PA snowstorms
We get quite a bit of snow where I am in Ontario and I should have the truck within a month, so I'm with ya!

1300 is exactly what he said for the 5 year.
Is the shine really that much better with the coating?
I'd say it takes any swirls or imperfections out if paint correction is done right and then locks in a new car shine. The main function of the coating is making the car much easier to clean. Water beads off and things don't stick to it as easily and can be cleaned off with ease. Hence ceramic coating and touchless wash is the way to go. Basically it is like having a freshly waxed car all the time without the effort of waxing it.

Well I’m SOLD

I would ceramic coat and self-wash personally. You can also ceramic coat and then do touchless car washes which is probably the best way to go. Its just pressurized water at that point which is honestly all you need for a ceramic coated car/truck. I second the comment that you will have to ask each car wash if you will fit or not first. Some car washes might not be able to take a 12.5 inch wide tire in the track. I've read some nightmare stories about people that tried with Raptors. The raptors owners manual says not to take it through car washes. Be curious to see if the TRX manual says something similar.

You will have no problem getting under there and doing your own Oil change. I have done an oil change on my trucks for years including my first one on the Raptor. The TRX is a little higher. Tho I probably won't be doing my own oil changes on it. I've come to realize you don't save much doing your own oil change any more. But yeah plenty of room to do it on a back roller.
The lube shops and dealers by you must not rape you like they do by me. I went in to get a quick oil change done while a road trip last year and for a full synthetic oil and filter change they charged me $120 (never again). For 7 quarts of full synthetic and a good filter it costs me less than $45 to change it myself

Yeah same here. Full synthetic around here is going to touch 100 bucks at least. Plus they always find something additional that’s wrong and needs to be replaced.
Sir, the hepa filter for your.....glovebox is dirty. Needs to be replaced by a certified glovebox technician

The last synthetic oil change on my raptor cost me 80 at the dealer so I am close. I had a coupon and the service guy is cool. I would save about 30 bucks doing it myself but I do 2 oil changes on it a year so maybe save 60 total. I tell myself that's the price I pay to take it to the dealer and sit in the new cool cars on the show room floor while I wait. I've also had a problem making it past the second oil change lately lol. I fall in love with something else new and shiny........lets just call it reduced impulse control to put it nicely.

lol part of the reason why I do it myself so I'm not tempted by all the shiny new toys at the dealer as I also have less than satisfactory impulse control according to my wife

Make that three. I've told my wife that my cars/trucks are the only form of permissible cheating in our household and that she should never ask questions about my mistresses', why some are gone, why new ones have arrived.. Its my department, and I need no supervisory talent in that department.

That sounds really low, what product are they using and are they doing paint correction first?
Ceramic Pro. They have amazing reviews on google
I think he said they have to do a level 1 detail before the coating. I should have my TRX next week so I’ll get more details and post some before and after. Getting tinted too

Lol
I’m already looking to put down a deposit on my next toy and I don’t even have my TRX yet
It’s my favorite vice 😬

I have had a half dozen of my cars done with Ceramic Pro, I've had another 25 or so done with GTechnic. Both are good products but my detail company who's been taking care of all my cars for 10 years has gone back to GTechnic as the primary because of the chemical compounds in their product. For a full correction and application, its always been in the 12-1300 buck range retail. I get a bit better of a deal just because of the volume over the years, but 700 sounds low.

Ugh...I thought it sounded too good to be true
So find someone else?

2 months ago the brushless washed used in Dallas refused my Raptor for entry (stock tires).
A retrofit had reduced the track width.
The newest system in town is a brand whish uses 2 wide moving tracks and provides a better wash then the prdecessors. I think it's the only choice for me in a 10 mile radius.
I'd recommend confirming, as both the Raptor and a Hummer I had were referenced by the attendants as having required a tow truck to extract. Definitely time consuming.

Not necessarily, you just want to clarify what you are actually getting. Your not getting a full paint correction, which you may or may not want, if the dealer touched the paint, your probably going to need a correction. In many transactions the dealers have tried to run it through the detail shop, and I tell them if they do that I am going to send them a bill for the full correction as those shops fuck paint up. Also never let them sell you the dealer applied ceramic coating, they've done that to me and want to upcharge it. They know they can't remove it, so they take it off the bill.
