Drop hitch? What type of hitch do you use?

Hook it up with a regular straight ballmount and see what happens.

The rear might very well drop three inches from the tongue weight, especially if the trailer has torsion axles. In which case it really should be towed level.

I run the diversatech hitch, guess its called fastway now. It has allen head adjusters to tighten the hitch so theres no rattle.

Why 8-inch drop?

He's right, the 8" drop is perfect. I had a 4" drop for my Laramie, so I assumed 6" would work for the TRX. I pulled my trailer up to the back of my truck and took measurements before I bought it.

Bumping this up as I’m a towing newbie and think I might have overdone it.

Just bought a Gen Y BOSS weight distribution hitch with a 2.5” shank and 6.5“ drop. It weighs 74 lbs itself. Did I overdo it?
Did you end up with the Gen Y Boss hitch? How is it performing?
