Drop hitch? What type of hitch do you use?

I have a B&W Tow & Stow. Triple ball, 5” drop. I didn’t buy it for the TRX specifically or anything, used it with my last 3 trucks. But it works.

Actually eying up that Weigh Safe though. Would be nice to have something a little lighter and less clunky. This forum is always good for spending my money.
. . .have the 2 ball version of this. Like you, this forum guarantees additional money will be spent.

What boat are you pulling? I’ve got a 2075 Lund that I‘m wondering how much sag there will be. Yours looks fairly level.

I picked up the weight safe 8 inch drop hitch with the 1 7/8, 2” and 2 5/16” balls. Very nice quality hitch I never own one before I’m very impressed with it.

I love my Aluma Tilt trailer to haul my 1969 Camaro. I purchased this same set-up after seeing yours! I have a tongue mounted tool box that I store all of my tie downs and tools. I am going to have to raise it to clear the bolts on the top. I have some aluminum square tubing that I plan to notch to make it work. Thank you for sharing!

Hey @wstaab -

Great looking setup! I'm a super trailer towing n00b. I'm looking to purchase the WDH like yours to tow a 26' boat and trailer. Weight Safe recommends disconnecting the spring-arms before backing up. I'm interested in your feedback. What's your process for backing up? Do you remove the spring-arms before backing up? If you do remove the spring-arms, how long does it take to remove the spring-arms and is it a PITA?

Thank you sir! Cheers

I prefer WDH hitches with active anti sway control, but either way, I would not get one that requires unhooking anything just to back up.

Did you go with the Cerakote Black Drop Hitch (Aluminum) or the Steel Drop Hitch?

No issues on an my aluminum trailer. ALUMA trailers are quality aluminum material. Can not comment on other aluminum trailers.

Hey guys, so the trailer I am buying has a 20 inch coupler height from the ground. And my TRX measures about 23" from bottom of hitch receiver to ground. Weight safe has several drop height options, I am thinking the 6" or 8" would work. Just dont want to drag the bottom of the hitch on rough road when it's all loaded up, so I am leaning towards the 6". But then the trailer might not ride perfectly level. So I am not sure which one to get.
