Don't valet your truck

I guess I’m a little too redneck to ever run into valet only places or even regular valet.
I always use valet service at every hotel we stay. We came down to Miami last summer, and yea you’re right, the valet parking was too small for this truck so that they just parked it right at the front entrance. We just got back from New Orleans spending Xmas Eve with the family, staying at Hyatt Hotel in Business District. The valet crew was nice but probably due to the oversized, they just parked the truck on the side walk, right in front of the hotel.

A good body shop will have no issue fixing this for you and actually white is pretty straightforward on color match, because there is no metallic. I would sue to diminished value due to it showing on Car Fax.
For the cab, they will need to disassemble the interior and get to that corner and beat it out. They should be able to get it very close by massaging the dent. Skim coat of filler, sand / feather / paint and its good as new.
For the bed, the entire bed side will need to be removed (cut off) and replaced. A good shop will reuse all the factory spot weld points and when its done, it should be as good as or better than factory and you should not be able to easily spot the repair.
Flare and step, full replacement.

Keep us in the loop on your repair.
Reading that, if I were the OP, would make me vomit. That's some major surgery.

Maybe go against the valet company for Diminished value
For real, a damaged/repaired vehicle will never again hold the same value as one that isn't. They will report it, they have to. Just saying it's something to think about, the cost isn't just the repair of the truck but the asset value loss.

Yeah, but if you want to make an omelet, you have to break some eggs!
The bed side is not a big deal for a good body shop.

Visiting DC soon and parking is limited. Anyone have experience with Waldorf Astoria parking?

I know its valet parking only. Not sure if they can fit a TRX. The nearest public garage that can fit a TRX is about 5 blocks away. I used to work down there and have a Google Map with "truck parking" where I would save garages that I fit in with my old truck and that was about a inch or 2 shorter. Might want to Uber in which is what I do these days.

Is the garage you're referring to the Union Station garage? If you wouldn't mind sharing the garage list you speak of, I'd appreciate it. The hotel staff said they could accommodate, but it would most likely be outside. As long as they have eyes on I don't really mind.

Union Station would fit. The one I was thinking of is at 616 E St NW, Washington, DC 20004 but I looked again and it's only 6'7".

1717 K St NW, Washington, DC 20036 and 1700 K St NW, Washington, DC 20006 are 7 to 8 feet clearance. My list is just random starred places in Google Maps. I typically use Google Street View to see the clearance signs of the garages. You can also look at the business info and places like Colonial and others have a website that tell you height restrictions and if you are going during the workday you can see if they have an attendant. I have been turned away from many garages and surface lots in DC. "NO TRUCK! NOOO TRUCK!" Which I usually responded to with a middle finger and heavy throttle.

Not sure how far away from DC you are. I see you are in VA, but if you are far you may want to consider parking outside the city at a friend's place and Uber in. I'd offer my house, its 35 miles west but I'd keep it safe for sure.

Nice. Thanks for the feedback/hospitality.

@RageWhite there are several garages at The Warf that are 8'+ clearance. The Warf is over by the Spy Museum, so it's a walk or a quick Uber to the heart of the touristy stuff. I've never driven there, so I don't know how tight the garages are width wise, but they're new construction which, together with the height, suggests they can accommodate bigger vehicles.
