Do you baby your TRX?

I'm lucky as I have a new F250 my job gives me every 4 years to drive all week long. I get to drive my TRX only on the weekends. I had a rebel before and only put like 9,800 miles in 3 years for that reason. I drove past the dealership early august and saw 2 x TRXs and had to come see them. As I negotiated one, the other was sold .... I bought it earlier than I wanted but I've been eyeing that thing since its first concept came out.

I've had fast bikes and cars my whole life and there is something about the TRX that marries the exact feeling of a muscle car while looking like juggernaut on the street.

I envy guys that abuse it and put it to the test. I've been averaging 8-9 not driving like a nun to be honest but I cant stop babying that thing
You are lucky for the F250 you can drive all week....From what I read, a lot of us cannot stop babying these damn things but do envy the guys that abuse them lol

I will end up somewhere in the middle. Baby at times but not be scared to use it. you can always get a new one, right…??
lol.... yep we can order a 22 and hope to get it in 2023

Gotta say though even though I only drive it in the weekends it still puzzles me how much fuel it burns at times.
But it is like a hate that quickly turns into love right away because it is so damn nice to ride.
Almost like that hot chick that only liked nice things and you took out knowing you would be burning loads of cash with, but loved every damn second you spent with her

Dude....perfect analogy lol

Why baby it? LOL. Just drive it the way you want. It's under warranty and it's tough as nails drivetrain wise. Who cares about gas mileage when it's all said and done... certainly if you bought a TRX you already resigned to the fact you're going to use a lot of gas!

So to answer your question if I baby mine- Nope, no way. But do I beat the hell out of it? No also. I drive it and have fun with it, period. It's a fun driver that puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and to me that's what a vehicle should do.. its priceless.

Oh, and it's not my fault that Ram put that oh so glorious supercharger whine sound that I get to hear if I just push the throttle a little bit more than not. LOL. Worth every penny to hear it :)

Love the sound of that thing... time for me to have some more fun with it too.. thanks!

So I do drive the shit out my truck, use the box as intended for dirt or to goto the dump. I also wash my truck frequently and keep it clean. I wipe the interior down at least once a week and I am a bit cautious with the center console.
I enjoy my truck but definitely take the time to keep it clean.
I'll admit it's never been of road, but it sees more track time than mud!

I use mine daily as a truck, to be a truck. The only thing I find myself babying is the Alcantara steering wheel. Every time my hands hit the suede, I immediately move them to the 9 and 3 position. Its such a different feel from what I'm used to, it's an involuntary reaction.
This is me as well. I really wish the whole steering wheel was plain old leather and not the Alcantara.

I try to keep my truck clean, but it’s almost fall which means dirt roads during hunting season, and then when winter comes we get snow and ice. The truck will get a good detail in the spring, but it’s a truck, and it’s going to get dirty.

"Don't let your possessions possess you." Enjoy the hell out of it!

Beat the bag out of it... hire mobile cleaning yups to come give the inside a once over every 3 months and clean the donut frosting and sprinkles from my free loading kids that destroy my backseat... gotta enjoy it... gotta YoLo.

I DD mine so I have to fill up 2-3x per week and I'm in sport mode 99% of the time I drive it like I stole it. If you stress the little things you'll never be able to enjoy the absolute beast this thing is.

I have to get myself there too where I can use it as a truck because I need it for that!! I baby the steering wheel too, don't want to scratch it!
Then I say purchase a steering wheel cover that says trx when doing daily things and when you get dapper dan (nicely dressed) then take it off look good feel good be happy and stay at detailer

I DD mine 75% of the time and I make sure I hit 117 every single day on the rural straight away on the way home. Maintain it well, wipe the inside down once in awhile.....I drive with the rear slider open alot, so dirt, pollen, etc. gets on every surface inside. I love it!

Still breaking mine in. So ya I baby it and even after I will for just day to day stuff minus some full pulls for that daily laugh. I do plan to take it out in the desert. As a ex detailer I took steps to keep her looking good after a good thrashing off road ( ppf).

I want to use this truck for its intended use and my daily but I'll always baby it with good wash wax and amsoil fluids on time and do oil analysis etc.

Let me give you some perspective. Here is a video of me thrashing my last high performance purpose built car.

A month later I was driving home and got caught in a torrential downpour. My TC was off and I forgot to reach up and turn it back on. My car lifted up on the pavement and hydroplaned off the road, rotated in the grass, and I flew off a 5' embankment into trees. Totaling a 250K car. When I got out, unharmed, I thought two things. 1. THANK GOD I had an agreed value insurance policy, and 2. THANK GOD I drove it like a madman every day because now the car was gone, never to be enjoyed again. All the wear on tires, etc was a moot point. I had won.

Life is short. You should always look at vehicles like the TRX as short term enjoyment prospects. It could be stolen, wrecked, and plain ole break down at any moment. So get the most enjoyment out of it as you can. High performance vehicles are like a hot girlfriend, are you going to look at her or bang her, because I know what the NEXT guy intends. lol

Smiles per gallon baby.

Well let’s see I’m over 20k in after market stuff. Drove from Pittsburgh to Myrtle Beach yesterday and stopped to wash it half way down and then as soon as I got to Myrtle. I’m currently parking it two high rises over because it’s a covered garage. What’s a little 150 yard walk to the condo? FYI I’ve owned a dozen trucks in my life and never was close to this OCD. I need counseling.
