Dash panel above instruments peeling

I know it's not full grain aniline leather like the seats above but I thought the dash was "genuine" sealed type leather.
It's "real" leather...kind of...but since it's sealed, leather conditioner won't penetrate the sealer, so it doesn't protect it. You need a UV protectant.

You know I don't know for sure, but I've been using Zanio leather conditioner on all of my cars and trucks, both exotic, and non-exotic, and it seems to have worked great for me in all my vehicles.

It also seems to have worked well in my 21, and now my 24, (although the 21 seemed to have a little smoother plush type of leather, where the 24 has a more Mercedes Style leather,) if that makes sense.

Either way I plan to continue to use my Zanio leather conditioner, even if it's "sealed", because I see it being absorbed into the leather so there is that.

But then again what do I know!🤣🇺🇲

Same problem here. Same solution underway. Entire dash is being replaced under warranty. I guess we’ll see how this goes…

Here we are just a month later, I've not taken it in to get the panel above the instruments repaired and I've just noticed that the pleather has started to separate from the main part of the dash, too. It looks like I'm in for a whole new dash. (n)

They had my truck for about 7 days and when I picked it up found that they broke the screen on the HUD display and the broke one of the clips around the bezel. They had to order both pieces and a took it back a month later to get those installed. My local dealership is a joke. Every time they work on it the brake something else.

Man mine literally happened over night last night. I parked in the garage woke up this morning to dive to work and saw it. Worst part is I called the deler today and told me it's not under warranty? I told man this is a very expensive truck and I berly have 17,000 miles on it but since it's 21 model he said I was over. Smh

You should reach out to Ram Cares and see if they can help you out paying for it on good will. The # is 1-866-726-4636

As a data point - I just had this fixed under warranty in my 2023 on Monday. It looked almost exactly as the posters photos above me. I have excellent rapport with my dealer and an awesome tech who replaced my whole dash in ~2hrs. I literally went in at 10am, gave me a free rental and called me that it was done at 1pm so for the right guy this is not a big job.

3 Years or 30K miles, which ever comes first. I'd double check that for sure. Mine has similar creases to yours and the dash is getting replaced. Mine is a 22 at 20K miles.

I don't understand some trucks getting some repairs done under warranty and others not.
The truck has a 3 year/36,000 mile basic warranty so any 2021 built later than today's date with less than 36k miles should still have warranty covering any faulty manufacturing issues.

Can't believe how some shitbag dealers can fuck some out of this.

That sucks. That's more or less what mine's started doing, in a similar location but to a lesser degree. I park my truck outside in the TX heat, but I'm religious about putting up the sun shield (if you don't, it takes forever to cool the black interior down). I've had a few other cars/trucks, some I've kept for a long time, and not ever had this happen. Ram quality. . .

I've not investigated part numbers, but I wonder if getting it "fixed" is just replacing it with another dash that'll fail in 2-3 yrs (my truck in a '22 built in April, so I'm well shy of 3 years). Hopefully there's an updated part number that doesn't do this.

In your case, if you can't get it warrantied, take it to an automotive interiors shop and have it re-glued. If it's a reputable place, using real automotive adhesives, it'll last a lot longer than 2-3 yrs and cost much less than the couple thousand bucks I bet it'll cost to have your dash replaced. I was investigating doing this for the panel above the instruments that I started the thread about, thinking it would be less invasive and more permanent than a putting in a replacement dash.

So I had to take my TRX into the dealership about a week ago due to the notorious leaking back window. We thought it might had leak previously but never found anything to support our suspicions. Turns out it was leaking in both upper corners. They told me my warranty had just expired; but they fixed it ‘gratis’. Just push silicone into the area!!!

Anyway, I got the truck back after a full detail and noticed my dash had started to separate too. So it got me wondering how many owners who are having the dash separation issue have also had a rear window leak issue?

I’m in S. Texas and after Hurricane Beryl is when the window leak became very apparent. With the added humidity in a locked truck; I’m thinking that it contributed to the sudden separation of the dash.

We have very low humidity here, and while it has been an unusually hot summer, that means it's been getting into the 80s.

Anyway, at some point this happened within a couple of days. Four months out of warranty.

Man same happened to mine it's so frustrating for a truck that is this expensive I would expect better quality.

Mine had wrinkles all throughout. Its currently at the dealership getting the entire dash replaced. Had to wait 4+ months for the dash to come in.

i was so close to buying the dash from a level 1 and putting it in my base level zero and didn’t pull the trigger. The more people that post this happening I’m glad I haven’t so far and might decide to never swap it because my dash is basically immune to this.

There was something in the Level 1 package I wanted, otherwise a base would've been just fine.

at this point I most likely added what you wanted from a level 1 besides the dash to my base and then some. Overall would have been cheaper to buy a level 1 but payments would have been more and I actually enjoy tinkering and adding stuff to my vehicles.

I also enjoy tinkering, but these days it's unlikely to happen. Too busy with basic maintenance.

Hell, if anything I should drive the TRX some more. The last time it got gas was 5-31-23.
