My coolant levels has been dipping to min level. No visible coolant on driveway or parking space at work. I am not auto mechanically inclined beyond dyi YouTube vids of simple things. Visible hoses from top of motor dry. Had a somewhat aggressive drive about a week ago. 4 hrs to and 4hr back. Any thoughts?

Does the engine bay smell sweet, that's one way to check for some sort of leak. The other could be the coolant is going into the cylinders. At this point a dealer visit is best

Are you having to fill it or is it just dipping to min when hot?

I started hearing fan come on at what seemed like interesting times. Had taken in for oil change at dealer about a month before. About a month ago I was in a parking lot with engine on and hot light came on. I started driving and temp came down. Checked coolant next morning very low, added 1/2 gallon of coolant to max line. Now about a month later seems like it at min line. But it was after about a 10min drive. I will check again after engine cools.

This sounds like a head gasket, on startup or while running getting any smoke or anything?

Weird, no smoke or visible leak but it's gotta be going somewhere. Dealer visit for sure and keep us updated. Hopefully it's something non internal related like a radiator

Will do. Only 26K miles, so if it is something bad, good time for it.

Big tank or little tank? Either way if you added and lost coolant sounds like time to see the dealer for warranty inspection! Big tank could be bad as leaking headgasket or little as a cracked/split rad. Little tank is your ic bricks that don't seem to ever end well. Good luck keep us posted.

Your most likely culprit is a cracked/separateing rad where the plastic tanks meet the metal core. I posted on this exact scenario in this thread.

Big tank. Little tank was slightly low and I actually overfilled. Level on it has not changed, still overfilled.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your truck. This happened to me about a year ago. When the car gets hot, the water expands, so if you overfill it, the tank will drain the excess. Once it cools down, the water level will always settle around the “Min” line, slightly above or below, which is normal.

Does it matter that it is the supercharger reservoir that is overfilled amd.not the engine resovoir?

That is strange, I just went to my local dealership and had the oil changed and latest update. Now my fan comes on at the strangest times. That never happened before. I guess I had better check my coolant level.

I’m not entirely sure, but I was referring to the engine coolant reservoir, not the supercharger (SC). However, the SC coolant pump is quite sensitive and tends to stop working, which triggers the “Check SC coolant level” alert. If you’ve seen that alert, it’s likely that the SC pump needs to be replaced since, to my knowledge, there isn’t a sensor for the water level in the SC reservoir.

I think our truck operates based on algorithmic data, with one of the key variables being the outside temperature. If you’re in an area where the weather is getting cooler, you may notice the fan running more often and at a higher volume. If you’re seeing it kick in more frequently, say every 2-4 intervals within a 10-minute span, I recommend checking your thermostat.

It was the radiator with mine. I was filling the reservoir up little by little before it started leaving a mark on driveway.

Upper right side of radiator is where it leaks from most of the time.
