CONFIRMED RETRAX Tonneau cover REDESIGN! install with a RAM BAR without modifications!

Same part number, we have sold tons of them to owners with the Ram Bar. Real Truck's support is not really car / tech savvy imo.

We stock both the 80243 and 90243 styles and can get them out the door quickly.

Whats the difference between them both, and if I added the bak X4S what would you recommend.

Which of these three will seal properly and be a water proof, and without any gap with the ram bar installed and I also have bedrug on my truck.

80243 is Manual and 90243 is Powered. The BAK X4s is another great rolling cover with full bed access, we have them discounted for $100 off right now: https://justboltons.com/bak-revolve...trx-new-body-style-w-o-ram-box-5-7-bed-80227/

With the proper weatherstripping and water leak testing you should be able to get any of these to seal pretty good but not 100%.

When did the new design come out? Just ordered one a couple weeks ago and curious if it will be the old design or new.

not recently and most dealers have not had any old inventory on these as they have been flying off the shelf as they cross-fit regular Ram 1500s / Rebels too.

Hey,
I see the tread for the manual version but I don't see anyone confirming for the Retrax Powertrax pro mx. Could you please confirm if the fit ID fine without the replacement bolts if needed.
Thanks,
AR

I ended installing the mopar trifold, it fits. Directly just like the backflip mx4

You just cant use the third piece to open, which is fine by me

Hey,
So the powertrax mx fits, not needing different bolts to clear the Rambar?

I wanted to get a tonneau cover for the TRX and really liked the RETRAX option but heard it needed different bolts to even come close to fitting properly. Well, I got one and the extra bolts needed only to find out that after the install, I didn't need the bolts at all. It has been confirmed that the rails are different on the newer design and it does not hit the ram bar bolts anymore. The rails fit with close to half an inch of space to spare from the ram bar bolts. This install ended up being super easy and really clean. I think this is one of the best tonneau covers you can get currently and the fact that it will fit with the ram bar without modification is just icing on the cake. Check out the video for the full install and final product.

I should have installed this cover time ago, but the price was holding me. Good quality, not 100% waterproof, but happy until now. If you have the Bed-Mounted Spare Tire Carrier you need to remove it, but it fits like a glove if you have a RAMBAR. Thanks @HorsePowerObsessed for that video and your suggestions.

Happy to help!

Still have my spare tire carrier with my Retrax installed.
I had to remove it because I couldn't slip the cover all the way on with the spare tire carrier on. The RAMBAR wont allow me to do that. Do you have RAMBAR?
