Center Console

If anyone on this thread moved on from their Level 2 center armrest w/ red stitching and would like to get rid of it, I'm an interested buyer. I just bought a '22 TRX, and the Alcantara on the center armrest has some damage.

Thanks!

ill be honest these covers from amazon and ebay look like absolute shit. i feel like they belong on a 16 year olds jeep wrangler. why on earth would you put that on your truck unless you do drywall for a living?

You dont like the alcantara? just replace it with leather at a shop. This is really easy. And it will look 100 times better than some shit from china with fake leather.

and the badge burning your arm? how far over are you leanin to the right? jesus im 6 2 and my arm doesnt even come close to the badge.... maybe i have short arms?

Yea I agree; i'm 6'1 and my arm only really even sits on the leather portion of the armrest. But i'm not particularly wide. I really like Alcantara though, hence why i'm trying to find someone looking to move on from theirs :)

the armrest is one of the best parts of the truck.... but to each their own i guess...

i didnt read the entire thread, what is so bad with current setup? you dont like the feeling of it? the look of alcantara?

it's a premium fabric - adds some character to normally ugly ass plain leather center counel lid. Badass badge. it's not in your face. matching stiching...

to me it's one of the special things about owning a trx.

Ceramic tint car windows and the badge getting too hot isn't a concern really.

100%
u can even ceramic tint the front windshield which is almost invisible to the eye.

or put a terry cloth down on it when parked in sun.
throw it in your glovebox when you take off. you always need a fresh terry cloth incase you spill yo drank.

Ah. I like the Alcantara armrest that came on my car (Level 2 w/ Red/CF). But mine is heavily marred from the prior owner. It's the only worn item on the car, so I'm planning to replace it. New ones are $700, which seems obscene. Will probably just get the alcantara replaced on it by an upholsterer, but figured I'd ask if anyone here who doesn't like Alcantara wants to sell me theirs

alcantara ( synthetic microsuede) is extremely durable. have you tried cleaning it?

Sonax is the best i've found for this. Don't mess around with anything else.

i would bet a large amount of money i could make it look brand new with this.

plz post a pic of the damage. I've brought steering wheels that were so packed down with grease and shit that the alcantara felt like hard white rubber. you just need the right cleaning products and a brush.

it's like washing shirt. its just a synthetic fabric that needs more regular maintance than leather.

might take 1-2 treatments but it will come back.

Very familiar with Alcantara (and Sonax), but I appreciate the tips. There are literally holes in it. And then the dealer tried to fix it by patching it with little pieces of Alcantara. It's a shtshow.

Katzkin can make you an all leather one in any color you like.

I like the Alcantara though lol. I appreciate the suggestion, though.

well there isn't shit on the used market. everything is overpriced and damaged and comes with an entire center counsel assembly which you dont need or want to swap out.

i would recommend taking it to an upholstery shop and just have it refinished. It;s a very simple piece to do.. it will look factory and cost less than $300

100% that's what i would do if i was in your situation.

I've had Katzxkin covers on a wrangler, but somebody has to install it... and it's very average stuff. It's good if you want leather in your 2010 cloth silverado.

The all leather takes away from the truck, i would not do that for the sake of resale value.

They can make you an OEM quality replacement with Alcantara
