Break-in Period

I didn’t take him seriously El jefe but when I get my truck, IS there some kind of instructions on how to properly break in engine/drivetrain??
Look up "breaking in a new gear set", then combine that with what the owners manual suggests for the engine and drive train and you really can't go wrong.

Good advice, thanks!

I better check with El Jefe first though.🤔

can i ask regarding 300 to 500 miles, what exactly does exercise the full engine rpm range, shifting manually (paddles or gear shift) at higher RPS when possible, as in downshift ?

and what does - do not perform sustained operation with the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle ?

thanks!
Basically, what the varying rpm (paddle shifters) achieves is heating the cylinder walls thoroughly, hence seating the rings and eliminating wall glazing. If you run at cruise rpm, around 1600 rpm, the cylinders heat only at a specific location within the wall, rather than the entire cylinder wall. Putting a tremendous load on the cylinders seats the rings and prevent glazing. Avoid lengthy idles too. We do this type of break in on high performance motorcycles too. I would ride my ZX14 in 2-4 gears to super heat the engine and set the rings.

Hmm. Why would you believe what the engineers have to say? These days the real truth is found on forums and You Tube.
Probably because it's not the engineers writing these things, it's the lawyers and everyone distrusts lawyers... :ROFLMAO:
